In a Battle for Gilneas earlier, in a rated BG, a Frost Mage could cast Ice Wall on top of themselves and cap both nodes while being uninterruptible or hittable from either side of the frost wall. I tested both sides of the wall before they capped and even used bubble to ensure there wouldn’t be anything to prevent me from interrupting it.
To me this needs to get addressed and changed asap, it would be like pressing bubble and capping a node for free.

Kill de wall
it’s killable, shocking right?
I use the same strategy in Eye of the Storm, it is fun
Okay, fair, given that there are enough people around to focus on it.
Might as well give me the ability to cap while bubbled too, it’s dispellable, shocking right?
Lol you cannot compare Bubble and Ice Wall, bubble makes you inmune.
Ice wall is more or less the same thing as rogue smoke bomb for capping. Also, it is not exclusive to frost mage anymore, all 3 specs can use it.
Get faster to the base before the enemy mage does?
But if you’re standing in the ice wall and you’re immune until it’s killed, then it performs identically to bubble, right?
I disagree that ice wall is the same as smoke bomb, it’s closer to bubble. Smoke bomb I can walk inside and still hit the rogue, requires little more than pressing w. Ice wall requires significant player action, like dispel or shatter would for bubble, to remove it.
Then it should displace mages on either side of the wall if dropped on themselves. Or if I am standing right on top of them I should be able to hit the sleeve that is barely hanging out of the wall.
That would kill the talent. Its purpose is to create non-LoS scenarios.
The wall has 40% hp of mage’s hp. It can be destroyed easy by two dps. Does Priest Mass Dispell works on it? I don’t know.
Edit: there are times where I’ve placed the wall badly, nearly over me and it pushes me back
, never had a sleeve hanging out the wall.
It wouldn’t kill the talent if the mage had positioned themselves on the non-los side with it. It could still be taken and used in many scenarios, just not to make a target completely immune inside of it.
If one DPS is sitting a node, then it would take a lot for that DPS to get it down, likely not in enough time for the cap.

Side bar I wonder are paladin able to cap a flag with spellwarding up. Never tested it but I would assume it works like Bop or DS.
Yes it will remove it instantly
I think the expectation is that the ice wall blocks LOS on one side.
It would be odd to entomb yourself inside an ice wall and be protected from all directions. It’s a wall, not a pseudo-ice block.
They should change ice wall so it always displaces you to one side. Or, they can make it like Mei’s ice wall. If you cast it directly on yourself, you get lifted off the ground and you end up standing on top of the ice wall.
I have never experienced this
to me it only blocks what I have in front of me or back or one side, like a wall.
Like if I use it to block a healer or hunter from attacking. It LOS on one side blocking everything on the other side. If a dps is on my side of the wall I can be attacked.
I think I’m not understanding the issue / bug
This was the original issue, the mage wasn’t hittable from EITHER side of the wall. They were encased in it and could cap freely.
I didn’t know I wanted this until just now. Imagine if I could make a bridge for my team using ice wall.

So it happens when ice wall is casted over the mage. What a bug man, this should not happen.
Waaaay less than more. So much less that it’s not even close.
Now it makes sense. Yeah that’s trash. It’ll be fixed next expansion maybe if they feel like it or remember it. Game breaking bugs aren’t on their radar unless it severely breaks pve
there are 2 ways to kill the ice wall, if you simply click it you will start like a 2.5 sec interuptable channel that destroys it with no damage
