No it comes down to blizzard knowing that arch was bad in og cata and doing nothing to improve it. while destorying other features that didnt need to be touched.
Guild perks like
Mass res - yes i know healers/hybrid classes have it now but everyone used to have it which was great in heroics when you have bad players that cause a wipe and the rogue or mage invis/vanish
Mass summon was great for raid night only needed 1 person at the raid or instance to summon people
Cash flow was great for LEGIT guilds to help pay for guild bank tabs repairs and or enchants
Void storage was taken out - great gold sink
didnt need to add the retail xmog - cata xmog system wasnt the greatest but it worked unlike arch
Void storage was gold to get tabs unlocked kinda like guild banks
Blizz doesnt wanna fix the RMT market if they did they would have just region locked the servers and made anti VPN servers then 90% of the RMT wouldnt be able to farm the gold and sell it for cheap because you know americans arent gonna go out and farm 10k gold for few hours to make $20 its not feesable for but for people in thialand and brasil it is
and cata transmog worked it wasnt the best but it still worked unlike arch that they admited to being broke 14+ years ago
This is a crazy sentiment to me. If you design an application and your intention is for it to be used in a specific way, but your user base is consistently using it in a different way that breaks things and causes frustration, itâs your fault as a developer. Blizzardâs job has nothing to do with our behavior past convincing us to give them money. Being cheeky and opaque about objectively bad design is a good way to convince your player base to stop doing that.
I was dual boxing originally so 2 there and then I rerolled one of them and that was the one who got sword so I already had a 450 arch on that account. People can choose to believe what they want, I got my sword so iâm believing it.
But these are the things I did I think it was just the alt but anyway, I leveled to 450 without troll or dwarf solves and got the 2 rares early on as expected and then sword popped at 37 still meaning the rares dont ruin your chances. I also held onto all of my blue/epic solves simply because I have the room. Iâm still chasing the staff iâm not many solves in iâm going to give it like 200 and if I donât get it then iâm still happy I got the 2h anyway.
It really isnât bad design. Itâs an insane incongruence of intention. Itâs clearly intended to be a expansion long multi-character activity with some BOAâs to chase as a stretch reward. Nice little reward tossed in with the mounts/pets/toys to help new characters without alpha/beta/gamma catchups. Itâs something to get max levels in the world doing something. Blizzard has said as much. Itâs not something youâre intended to farm for a month for prebis. If a company makes a weed-whacker, and I mangle myself trying to use it to shave, then I donât get to go back and blame them for using it outside of its usecase.
Im at 813 solves total, solved all Nerubian at around 400 on 11/05 total then didnât get another Nerubian site untill today. Just rerolled two in the last hour?
Did i just get crazy lucky with not getting any Nerubian sites for so long. I know once youâve solved all artifacts for a faction itâs around a 50% less chance to get that faction pop up (Minus fossil cause of the pet we canât get) but to go so many days and solves without a single one until today to get a couple seems odd. Iâm honestly wondering whether thereâs been some kind of shadow change.
Very wrong. If there were an item that was sold as a weedwhacker but used almost exclusively by the customer base to shave with, the company would be open to intense financial liability if it was dangerous to shave with.
Itâs like how âback massagersâ are, for some reason, designed to be able to be safely used on sensitive regions that are definitely not part of the back. The manufacturer had an intended use case but the customer base had an almost ubiquitous alternative use case; the manufacturer liked the unintended increase in sales, so they worked within the reality of the situation rather than pretending like their only responsibility was to manufacture a product whose sole use would be to massage the back.
Iâm not making any demands for what Blizzard has to do about this. Iâm saying that, since Iâm not an absolute moron, I can recognize the reality of what is currently happening and how the design choices of the company led directly to that outcome. Thereâs no way that Blizzard is happy that a significant portion of its more dedicated players are feeling compelled to burn themselves out grinding an activity well past the point of it being engaging in order to specifically influence player power. They know that itâs bad design and bad for business, theyâre just not sure what to do about it. Suggest a compromise, come up with an alternative, contribute in a way that helps resolve the design flaw, maybe even leave it alone and donât weigh in at all, but absolutely donât white knight the bad design, itâs incredibly counterproductive.
