Please fix archaeology

Cata runs on the retail client, but uses the cata codebase, which is why weird issues happen sometimes.

It does not already have the base legion and beyond logic sitting there, its catas version of archy through and through.

And ive said i’d prefer they change it so people don’t burn out over nothing

Up to 1950 solves in EK, hoping for bad luck protection even in my dreams

I dont think you’re a developer. That’s not how it works man. I’m not going to go back and forth with you. Good day

I mean… its flat out how they said it works lol

Not being able to finish fossil is insane. We can farm level 85 epics but not a pet? The pet requires 525 Arch because… Blizzard.

Add Bad Luck Protection.

I wish Blizzard would make a statement. Either tell us we are all degenerate losers for trying to farm amazing gear locked behind a broken profession, or improve our odds. Make it so we can focus on specific dig sits, or trade fragments for other fragments. Could even be 2 of any for 1 of what you want.

Maybe corporate will approve the request to communicate information on that subject a few week after the request was made. Joking aside I don’t know the intricacies of the limitations the rumored few devs working on cata classic have. But I wouldn’t be shocked if their lack of communication on the subject was due to something like that.

I promised myself I would not go over 300 Troll Solves. That’s my limit at least until I’ve done everything else I wanted prior to launch.

Why do they have to tell you what you already know?

You’re commenting on a post on a topic you apparently care little about, you’re in that camp too pal.

I mean I’m bored so trawling the forums. Can’t care at all when there’s 0 AGI artifacts to even chase. IF there hypothetically were though I would probably put a days effort in and call it since the juice isn’t worth the squeeze IMO. I wouldn’t be crying on the forums about it.

You wouldn’t make suggestions on the forums? just browse them casually and comment on topics you have no place to speak on? cool

If I had a suggestion it would be to add a few AGI artifacts for the chase to be more fun. The rarity is fine for what’s intended to be a chase item. A chase item that won’t be BIS in 2 weeks.

You’re right!

I am a bit confused here. When you say chase item I assume you mean “a high value items that you work toward.”. So in other words a long-term goal right? But then you describe that chase item as not a chase item.

So a Long-term goal that is a short-term goal.
The item is designed so you have to spend a long time to get it but it’s only good for a short time so before you even get it you lose your purpose for getting it?
Am I the only one who doesn’t understand the logic?

What’s the purpose in getting Ashes of Alar. Or take a more extreme example pets in Runescape. Literally no utility 1/2000-5000 drop rates that people chase. Or skilling pets that it’s possible to get to 200m xp without getting. It’s a status symbol and a chase item. Not intended prebis.

Ashes is not a short-term goal, it’s a long-term goal. It’s value isn’t drastically reduced after a few week.
Things that have high value for a very short time are things that are short-term. Things that have value that stays the same for a long time are long-term.

You can transmog it! Granted it’s a polearm but still.

To add it’s probably the rarest polearm in the game presently so a decent status symbol.

That’s not the point. Value is derived by how much something is desired by the market. For a very short time the most rare item of archeology will have a market value that is absurdly high. But only for a very short time because the part that is valuable loses all it’s value very quickly. It is a short-term goal by definition.
