Archeology was a social experiment to see how awful they could be to the player base before they stopped playing.

Nah⌠it was meant to be a fun alternative to raiding to get items of power. Your average raider in 2010 had zero desire to grind up 1000 solves. But the guy that never raids and has every pet in the game does⌠So back then he could be king for a day. Today the sweatlords actually raid and they do it to PARSE. There is no other way.

If you needed mana you couldnât replace it in any raid.
Ulduar had a straight upgrade from it
Uhh, no. Meteorite Crystal was not a straight upgrade if you needed mana on a fight. I also donât know if you realize this but characters in this game have two trinket slots.
No one was wearing that blue after then, if they were something was wrong

I healed on pally, i ditched it as soon as i could lol, i hate wearing the same thing for that long, it wasnt needed
The game is about upgrading gear
Nothing is âneededâ. It was worth hundreds of MP5 and nothing else compared for the entire expansion for sustaining your mana pool.
Never had mana issues without it, would have replaced it in naxx, but naxx trinkets were eh
True, you could reduce your healing output by weaving in FoL and make due without it. The best players in the best guilds all used it because it was the best trinket for progression for the entirety of WoTLK.
But it wasnt the most fun, fun is upgrading
Also, most guilds werent really in a position to need that kind of bis anyway, mana issues are generally only super cutting edge, most other guilds can just learn to play better
