Dot classes are way more enjoyable playing solo. I never really could enjoy shadow or affliction warlock in groups because they always felt like they do nothing when everything is already dead before you’re finished putting all your dots out in a dungeon. There’s something cathartic about dotting an entire quest mob camp and watching them just fall over dead around you, though

Some people win the lottery twice.
The main difference between this and archeology is if your guild falls apart or you dont have 500k to blow on shards then no you wont finish it, but archeology is a solo endeavor that yields the reward of a raid boss.
archaeology drops normal raid version, not heroic, not LEGENDARY
and somthimes you spend more time ( 1300+ solves anoyer) then for legendary

It doesnt matter what version of raid gear it drops, it is a solo event that doesnt cost gold, materials, or other crafting items, only time. Currently you are able to farm this raid gear prior to the expansion even coming out. Never before has something like this been allowed in WoW. They should have never allowed the epic items to be obtainable before cata launch.

its cost gold, time is overall the most expensive resource
especially when instead of a fun 20-30h you spend 100+h and only [Dwarven Baby Socks] still in your inventory
It doesnt require gold, you have the OPTION of utilizing gold to speed things up slightly.
Yes and no. Time is relative. Time without effort yields nothing, and solo effort does not equate to the raid effort requiring other people.

Another fulfilling day of digging. 190 solves on the day I’m starting to get a rhythm. Did I any 359’s? no. But that’s not what archaeology is about. You see, to me, this forum makes no sense. I’m out here digging and mastering my profession. I may be hard-capped at 450 but that doesn’t mean a thing. “please fix archaeology”, just another person that can’t deal with a little adversity. SO WHAT if you have to dig for 12 hours a day with nothing to show for it? It’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey. Not a single epic yet & I’m at 1940 solves. I feel like Michael Phelps in 2008, my pace is unmatched. I am unstoppable. I’m quick and my fluidity is on a whole other level. No one can break me, I will not give up. I am putting up big numbers daily and I refuse to sit on this forum and cry about not receiving a single item. Some people got it in under 100 solves, and to me, they’re the unlucky ones. They don’t get to find the joy and serenity in doing something for no reward for over 100 hours like me. Digging on Eastern Kingdoms has become my heaven. I have sat in my chair without eating, drinking, or showering let alone any contact from another human for 7 going on 8 days now. This has allowed me to fully escape reality, which I doubt I will return to. I hope I can dig forever and not a single epic appears. That is true nirvana.
This profession was the best thing to ever happen to this game thank you to the classic developers for leaving it this way. The weak will cry and suffer and the strong will thrive. WHO CARES if your friends all got their epics in 20 solves?? Grab a shovel and go hit some nodes, goober. That is, if I leave you any.

What exactly do you think your post conveys for a laughing emoji to be used? You are not forced to utilize keystones. They are not required. This isnt like normal professions. You cant just choose to use truegold in a craft or not. Gold helps but it is not required, so no even if you had 5000 solves it doesnt mean you deserve having a 100% chance at an epic item a week before the expansion in which is exists…drops.

And its this pre-pubescent behavior that elicits a grin from ear to ear. No matter how hard you and other tryhards farm, you are almost certainly not going to go into raids with perfect pre-bis.
