Please fix archaeology

they implemented a ton of bad luck protection (not enough to stop people going insane though) then they abandoned arch entirely, it hasn’t had an update in recent expansions

I thought it got somewhat of a re-work in Dragonflight and before that it was completely abandoned?

Or at least heard something regarding it.

Least fun I’ve ever had in this game. Archeology grind is awful.

Yeah, defending awful game design because it’s as it was back then! Because Blizzard definitely hasn’t changed anything in Classic.

You’re adding nothing of value but posting in every thread on this subject. Nobody likes the guy who got super lucky and didn’t even have to grind constantly asking why everyone else is getting so worked up about the awful grind.

No, again I’m saying that if they’re getting worked up about it that they should take a break. I know why people are worked up, Archaeology isn’t the only grind that exists in WoW and I consider that to be good advice. If something is stressing you out, anything, take a step back and come back at it with a clear head.

Guys and girls, dont hate the ant that got lucky and got out of the jar. Blizzard has us all in a jar and is shaking the jar. We are getting upset and jealous of the lucky few to escape. Don’t hate. Let’s band together and be a force they can’t ignore. Let’s remove that lid so we can all be free.

That’s great, man. So happy for you.

Anyway, Blizzard should fix archeology. Leaving one unobtainable fossil drop so we just get endless useless fossil sites is honestly trolling by Blizzard. Or it would be, but I’m sure they’re just completely clueless about the repercussions.

trust me. we wont. we’re already broken

I wouldn’t care if they buffed the chances or what not, pretty sure I’ve always stated that any changes they happen to do is fine by me, or maybe I’ve never said my stance on that… Can’t recall me saying anything about that…

Personally I think that Archaeology being what it is, that being a secondary profession that has an end (unlike Cooking, Fishing and First Aid) to where you no longer do it simply because there’s no reason to it makes sense for there to be rare (or even exceedingly rare) items that have a (very) low drop rate as that it prolongs the activity and that it’s not abandoned shortly after its implementation.

But with Cataclysm being on an accelerated release schedule I think the most appropriate way to “buff” Archaeology is to simply increase the amount of fragments you get from each dig. By how much, I’m not sure, at least by two I’d imagine, I think that’s the best way to buff it.

Do you feel like that if you took a break you’d never dig again? (humour)

id dig my own grave for sure. then maybe ill be at peace. and the light will grasp me

Be buried with all of the commons you got.

Reminds me of the Dwarf from ICC, “burn my body” or something.

truuuuuuuue. there would be so many lizard foot charms.

Would have enough to make you own foot lizard.

I still dont understand why the fossil pet is still required even though its 525. like either let me complete it by getting the toy or take it completely out till release. im getting about 60% fossil in EK. its gotten to the point where i just find the node and go to the next instantly. I’m done looting it for minimal gold. I’ve personally stopped solving dwarf even though i dont have the staff cause i cant be bothered to do it. I think I would be more pissed if i got the staff first even if it “reduced” my dwarf digsite chances

Yeah, the Fossilized Pterrordax should becomes available, to not have it available is kinda pointless and honestly confusing.

Yeah there never was a good reason for that pet to be 525 when they added it in a later patch. Maybe it was just because there was almost nothing that required 525 and to justify the skill ups.

Some things are allowed to be rare you know.

Only reason i can see for making them easier to get is they really dont matter anyway

I’d agree with you if these items didn’t have extraordinary player power tied to them. Like the mount / recipe from tol’vir sure. idgaf. The toys sure who cares. but items that can arguably last till ph2 of an expac no. that’s where everybody has a problem with it. Plus the actual “rare” things such as Mimiron’s Head / Invincible / Shadowmourne (legendary btw) were handed out like candy. It’s kind of a joke if you ask me.

Let me ask you a question. IF the bonuses from all other professions were a >1% craft rate would you be ok with it? Getting the materials → crafting it → destroys your mats /time. If not then there’s nothing different with Archeology.

I love it man this
is fun like archeology

Extraordinary? You can easily just use a heroic weapon, you’ll replace it in the first couple of weeks of raiding

ik what i can do with the sword. but the trinket is not the case. you use that till ph2. Whats your answer to that question
