As we have all learned from this, it simply was a bad idea, it didn’t work well in that bugs that were patched out previously were brought back this season. Along with horrible tuning that just made for a half baked experience that made for a frustrating season start.
The older dungeons that were not keystones previously do not work well with the system honestly. There is so much that cannot be interrupted, so many dispels and the like that make for a headache of an experience. In which they simply need a facelift to even remotely match the keystones we had previously. In terms of space as seen with grimrail depot, and control over the trash and what it’s casting as seen with iron docks incendiary slugs.
Please just use the DF dungeons, and maybe add a few more each major patch cycle and use that to refresh the rotation. Otherwise I cannot see another round of older dungeons being made into keystones without any sort of changes being made to the trash and boss encounters mechanic and tuning wise.

Unfortunately, they already have planned to do this.
Yet there is still time to revert their idea, all the dungeons for DF will be designed for keys and will be in the rotation eventually. So it shouldn’t be too hard to simply use them instead over whatever dungeons they plan to use for the older variants. Along with I found this season to be a let down given it took away a lot of the previous dungeon loot. Which was nice to be able to obtain in terms of consistency season to season. I can see a lot of broken trinkets and items being available one season, and gone the next being a frustrating thing to deal with.

I understand and I wish they would. But they seem to be set on recycling nowadays.
still believe they should just give us the 8 new DF dungeon on launch for m+ then rotate 2-4 old dungeon. I think it’s stupid that we’re only getting 4 to start w/

Grimrail is fine on that front. Its problem have nothing to do with being a keystone and more to do with bugs that were never addressed as well as the camera issues.
That said, Lower and Upper kara are strong evidence that bringing back old dungeons and just scaling them is a disaster. These past expansions had completely different design paradigms. In Legion, one GCD could heal someone to full, so the damage was not out of whack like it is now. You can’t just scale the damage in Kara and call it a day. Mob damage needed to be tuned to account for differences in class design and they didn’t do it.
I’m scared that Temple of the Jade Serpent is going to be a disaster. The last boss DoT may just be unhealable on higher Tyrannical keys for instance. Blizzard can’t bring back Tyrannical if they’re going to bring back these dungeons and then not tune the trash/boss difficulty to be equalized as it was for SL dungeons.

Imo, should be 8 new dungeons at start at least, additionally 2 old swapped each season…more new, at least a mega-dungeon added later as well. This is just too much old. I like the concept, I like new content more.
Honestly, ive had tons of fun running Iron docks, Grimrail Depot, and Mechagon again, however Karazan is awful. People dont know how to do the first fight of lower, flame wreath going off regardless of people not moving, etc.

Yeah both karas are an absolute disaster TBH. I love the dungeons from a thematic point of view but as S4 M+ push content they’re so yucky.

grimrail will be so much better if they just remove the roof on the carts

I would certainly like to see more new dungeons, but older dungeons are fine; people just seem to be unwilling or unable to learn them.
Scaling is always going to be an issue whether it’s new or not.
They messed up tazavesh too before they fixed it.
Has nothing to do with them being old or not. It’s all about them testing their product or not

I agree to a degree. I think it should be done like this expac and have the old instances on the last season for a fill in kind of thing. I like that honestly.
Having it right off the bat takes away the fun of the new dungeons.
They should just keep them in a bonus dungeon pool for the season imo.
Let the expansions be in the season. And have those bonus dungeons take up your 2-8 least scores from the expansion dungeon season rating.
That way if you dont like an expansion dungeon you can opt out for older ones.
Having them in a bonus dungeon pool mitigates there buggyness on the onset. Lets people play current expansion dungeons when they are relevant. And gives players options for old dungeons and loot tables
Uhh…
No. Kara is terrible for pushing.
Votes full on BRD for next poll
Oh, please. Using old dungeons is fine if they’re reasonably tuned. The literal same new dungeons for 2 years is simply too long.

I’m assuming you’re talking about legion m+. Personally I think it’s bad simply because of how it works and people will try and grind the dungeons for the week it’s out for FOMO. Just look at what happened last week when people were consistently spammed vault and CoS for specific gear.
Oh no no not the legion M+ week.
I would like for those to be perm and around all the time just for funzies.
I’m talking about season 4 where it has some SL dungeons in it and a mix of dungeons from all expacs. That’s what I meant.
Yeah the 1 week thing people just use it to fill etc. for that week.
I think the season 4 did brought some nice change I will agree. But same time I still believe it’s a mistake not giving us 8 new dungeon atleast for season 1
