Please dont join HC servers

Theyre awful and theres maybe 25 players on it, and they dont even actually stop when they die, just get their death forgiven.

with video proof.

also with the add on the guilds know who dies. It comes up like a raid leader notice with chat broadcasts.

we pay our respects with F’s and RIPs, see them leave guild and rejoin minutes later as well.

player x after delete is no longer player x the say priest…now they are a warrior or something lol.

edit: and you want to guild up. It lets non hc know you are hc. since most guilds names format is HC some_guild_name. this cuts out a lot of stuff like getting duel offers you don’t really want lol.

You on bloodsail? I just started and annoying forum spammers aside, it is actually kinda fun. HC makes things like picking a profession much more impactful than normal and you’re actually excited to see those greens again.

Hilarious that deaths can be “forgiven.” May as well not even have permanent death then.

But ya, no more junk private servers.

I mean whats better than eng?

Target dummies, grenades, mind control cap, stun cap.

I guess alch can be cool.

what’s a good HC server?

Bloodsail seems the be lead server for this. the HC folks coexist with the RP’ers.

its not a bad place or time really.

Anyone even thinking of trying justs need to see what achievements are there. before you even make the chars.

Besides the main for 60 clear no death…you get to pick more exotic ones. some of these you setup before you even take 1 step.

hunters can get a melee only achievement. you will remove that bow first thing you do as you get in game however. 1 bow shot no achievement.

paladins can get no blessing achievement. that means no blessing casts…ever.

so best to know what one is there before breaks it.

I just dinged 10 on a hunter. Now I debate.

do I kite my butt off true solo not even a pet as I level more (Or I die).

or tame a pet.

there is lonewolf achievement…you can’t even tame pets. only forced pets via quest are allowed.

So I decide do I go petless MM hunter or not. So I have not taken my level 10 pet quest yet even.

Yep.

its interesting. and even if you die, there is the free transfer off. HC says the character can’t be used and should be deleted.

okay…define delete. if no longer existing on server…transfers does that lol.

Its looking to be a more interesting way to make new alts for wrath in an odd way.

Engi is def good, target dummies are clutch.
Alchemy is good for easy access to pots.

Tailoring/enchanting for caster classes is good because bags are hard to come by, and you can craft gear and wands

But any crafting profession can be big as a way to gain gear since it can be hard to come by since you can only run an instance once… As a leather worker most of the gear im wearing is crafted, as well as a couple bags.

Just try to stay alive as long as possible first lol. Zero shot you make it to 60 as a petless hunter on the first go. The achievements are interesting, but not something Id worry too much about initially or you’ll never make it past level 20 lol.
Druid has a couple interesting ones like “never put a point in the balance/resto trees” and “get to 60 withoht dying or ever learning a shape-shifting ability” lol

Any advice on getting a warrior to 60 without dying?

Tons of warriors in HC but they’re pretty tough. Kargoz always plays warrior and I’m pretty sure he has a guide or two out there for them on HC.

Obvious stuff like keep first aid leveled and get good at stuff like shout/bandaging and using hamstring/howl to gtfo when things go bad.

Save your crafting profession until level 10 or so. Starting with tailor or skinning to get bags or gain a little extra silver early is a nice boost.

Alchemy or Engi are huge for warrior and let you do things like get your WW axe a lot earlier than you otherwise could. Engi isn’t bad but for warrior but Alchemy in particular is insane. Invis pots, swiftness pots (if you get the recipe,) healing pots, resist pots, armor pots, etc etc, and it lets you get the frost oil for nifty stopwatch…

Also figure out a rough weapon progression for early on. Figure out what quests give you good weapons and plan around those. Weapons like Cauldron Stirrer can be a big boost early on. And use whatever your best weapons are. When leveling stuff like dw arms and 1h fury are fine if it means you can use that blue weapon that happened to drop, since they’re so impactful and hard to come by otherwise.

Be patient. If you overpull you die. If you run into an area without looking around first, you die. Warrior doesn’t have FD, vanish, or built-in escapes/dashes outside of charge so you have to be particularly careful. And don’t be afraid to die and start again, lol.
The RNG of whether you get lucky this run and hit your blue weapons on your dungeon run or get a good drop while leveling makes it almost rogue-like.

Thanks. I figured professions would be between alchemy and Blacksmithing. But I can see how alchemy would be too good to pass up if the objective is to not die. Resist pots would also help when dealing with casters.

You know at first i was surprised about people liking hc in my thread. Till i realized theres only 3 of you while the other threads are full of hate :skull:

I don’t hate HC. But it is annoying hearing “wrath sucks HC is the real WoW lul”.

Yea I mean they’re not mutually exclusive. I play lots of other games in between raid-logging Ulduar on a couple characters. Doesn’t mean one is inherently “better” than the other. I think the add-on to keep people honest makes HC an interesting concept, and the “official HC server hype” alone with the way they managed to connect the guild chats of multiple HC guilds makes for a pretty solid community (still not sure how they did that but it is cool.)

For HC? Alch has saved me a few times by now. You can’t trade or buy pots off the AH so if you’re a solo HC character you would never have a consistent stash of them, and if you’re alch you have to be herb for the same reasons.

Engi is just too niche to go with on a solo challenge. If you do a duo or trio challenge then I’d absolutely consider it. Otherwise as solo I can’t justify any other profession combo because while their upsides are nice a potion is what will be the thing that saves your run more than once.

Undead is a particularly good option IMO because of cannibalize. All the extra theoretical healing you can get can save your life, and as someone doing an Alliance warlock not having it makes me sad.

The first 30 levels of Warrior are the worst though, then it picks up. That’s when you have access to SS and whirlwind which actually made it more efficient to pull two mobs at once rather than 1v1ing them. Maybe not worth the risk in HC though, but that was IME during original Classic launch.

In general Warrior sucks pretty hard, IMO I wouldn’t start with it as your first HC class if that’s your situation, but stick to green quests and green mobs and don’t go into places with only one way in or out. You’ll probably find it advantageous to grind a few levels out more than once rather than questing just because what’s available to you may not be favorable to trying to accomplish over some easy mobs.

Ok, but you’re still in the wrong forum.

I was thinking Tauren with warstomp. Not to mention that they should be able to gather higher level herbs faster with the herbalism buff.
