Like I said, up until recently. Unless you missed that. Even so, it’s a fractional amount.
I completely agree in the past 5 years the right has started to get on board with the tactic. That doesn’t discount what is historically true.
There is still an element of communalism.
Humans work best as a collection, it is the basis of our societies. Regardless of how individualist they are.
Even the individualist ones still depend on representations of what a “good citizen” is. It pervades every aspect of our lives, from our religions, cultures, to corporate entities.
Every system you’ve ever been in imparts some semblance of a “collective” on you. Be it overt or otherwise.
I don’t want to say “trust me, I am an expert”. But, in this case, I actually kinda am.

Lol society isn’t a collective. Society is hierarchical and typically meritocratic. The individual benefits because the group benefits and vice versa. This is the everyone does there part and comes together, and debate drives discourse because what’s good for the blacksmith might not be good for the farmer.

Rubbish, a collectivist society would be perfectly able to function doing isolation as long as it would take to defeat the problem, knowning full well the group’s survival and health was more important than the individual. Actually, I’m technically a Randian Objectivist, and fully embrace ethical egoism.
But, at the end of the day, I understand that the will of “the situation” is far stronger than you think.
yeah, i have 2 friends very very much repulsed by the idea of ever being in a straight relationship, yet hate this “we need to be included” stuff as well…
i can get that if you are say a trans person that you feel like theres not much related to your real life in things or you are not represented, however you have to understand that you are half of a percentage of the world and the world ranges from… so brave - that is disgusting.
so if they were to ever implement across the board representation of the world 1 in like 50 thousand npc’s would be gay or bi. 1 in several hundred million would be trans, 1 in about 50 would be extreme racist. and 1/2 of them would be real world religions
