Play a pet spec if you want to play with a pet. MM has no need for a pet. People love to complain about nothing on these forums and it’s just sad.
A few things.
- Casual does not mean incompetent, even for hunters. They will push Aimed Shot and the mob will die.
- The eagle will not have any work involved, it can’t be targeted and can’t randomly die which is the biggest pet peeve for any spec reliant on pets and their AI.
- Identifying a hunter has been no-pet MM, one pet SV, two pet BM. The spec fantasy for MM has been big shooting, yeeting self into melee to fight alingside your pet as SV, or commanding pets from safe distance as BM.
My MM hunter has had pets since vanilla and taking away pets I had for 20 years or forcing me to play something else is NOT a good idea. It is a slap in the face.

Slow time of the year for me and I was bored 
But I did need to reply to all these people who insist that MM is now doomed with these changes. How it has destroyed their enjoyment. And especially when they also add that they don’t actually play MM in any of the end game content but will cross their heart play MM all the time anyways.

MM was never specifically NO-PET. LW is a recent thing and I for one never liked the idea. I put in too much effort in finding what pets I like.

What do you mean thinking about MM doesn’t make someone an MM player? How elitist. I am shocked and appalled personally, people who daydream about MM despite not having played the spec in years clearly are veteran MM players.
Actually, how recent is Lone Wolf? I thought it’d been around since forever. Maybe not at launch but it’s been around longer than not.

I never said or implied they are incompetent, that cames from your own prejudice towards casual.
Second, the mob will not die with just one aimed shot, and more scenarios where you have multiple mobs, elite or rares that the Pet comes in hand.
Which is also bad, because:
1- It screws over my choice to not have any pet at all when im doing dungeons or raids, because now im forced to have this dumb bird.
2- It screws over my choice to have my own pet to do what i want in content like questing, PVP and delves
Its extremely dumb when we could have both options, with all the changes from the PTR to be tailored to lone wolf - working as grimoire of sacrifice(you unsumon the pet and gain its abilities plus 5% damage) - while you have the option to summon your pet.
That’s not the case, especially because SV is melee, after they forced people out of ranged telling then to play MM. now you are forcing everyone who plays MM with pet to go BM.
Spec fantasy of MM has being big shooting from afar while your pet tank for you.
Literally the first hunter we see in WoW is the dwarf in the wow cinematic with his gun and his bear tanking the tauren, a MM hunter trough and trough

your pet ain’t tanking if you’re doing big shooting honey. and if your pet is tanking, you most assuredly aren’t doing big shooting.
