Then your opinion on the subject is near worthless since you don’t even play the game. It’s also incriminating that you hide your profile too, which leads me to believe you don’t know what a not-fun gameplay system is.
The Maw for all intents and purposes is miles better than Horrific Visions in its current state.

Problem is I want to care, i love this game. But Oh well, have fun out there.
Just imagine if you didn’t get any rewards if you died during a vision. No mementos, no echoes, and no gear. Just 20 minutes of wasted time because your computer lagged and scorched feet pulled an extra group for ya!
Then I will not have a problem. I can do visions but hate them with a passion have not did one in months. BFa killed my guild so I have done little this expac they all stopped playing in Uldir. And did not know my profile was hidden.
Do you bank stygia after returning from an expedition? Or will it be at risk until spent?
Damm thats sad dont worry il bring you a souvenir when i get back from the maw
Not quite sure how it works, but we know that you carry Stygia to a certain place within The Maw (presumably near where you dropped in). Then that Stygia is safe from death penalties, but when it’s on you, you’re risking it.

Good good il try to bring it back but i play with warmode on so theres a 50/50 chance il lose it on death.

I personally see this as a nice change of pace. Seriously can’t wait for this expansion!
I found it and unhid it I have nothing to hid. I have done little this expac. Guild will be back next expac will start up again then. Not leaving I like the people here and a lot of family in guild also. And not enough gold in Azeroth to make me pug anything.
Here’s the thing about the “keep what you worked for” shtick. Blizzard defines the reward structure, and in this case they are saying you haven’t fully “earned” that currency until you spend it or safely leave the zone with it. It’s their game and you’re bound by the reward structure they set.
If you’re unwilling to accept that then that’s just your disagreement with the design. It’s fine to do so, but the design is not inherently bad just because you disagree with it.

Just sounds like I will spend a lot of time needlessly running back and forth to not lose what I have. Doesn’t sound too fun. But Oh well we have to do what we have to do.
If Stygia is a resource that is earned and spent quickly, losing half of it wouldn’t really be too much of a problem, and would add to the sense of danger. However, if dying in a bad place or getting an ill-timed disconnect means losing a week’s worth of Stygia, then that would certainly be bad.
I went to the Maw and all I got was this stupid tee-shirt!
I can see where some people dislike the idea of risk and danger while playing but then there are people who like it. The Maw makes dying risky again but not overly so as you can try to get back to where you died to recover your stuff. I played EQ for a long time and am very familiar with the concept. and Yes I have lost everything because I couldn’t recover my stuff and had to re-gear. It sucked but I have to admit it was memorable and something I laugh about now. I also learned not to piss off that damn unicorn.
I don’t think it’s possible (maybe possible, but certainly not normal) to bank up a week’s worth. You can only spend so much time in the maw each day, so I imagine you’d return to the vendor to spend your stygia before getting kicked out. But who knows, the details are still pretty thin.
I’m not going to lie, the Maw sounds pretty exciting.
Or that one hooded figure with laser swords that 1 hit ko you if you don’t have a certain abilitiy.
