Please do not add dual spec to SoD

100% add duel spec

Don’t force people to go to town in order to PvP or PvE.

Wut lol

If you want to RP join a RP server and tell others to do the same. Goldshire is waiting for you. Begone!!!

Okay, don’t play.

We need more people like you. What SoD needs imo, is a solid compromise between the QoL world and the larger scale Vanilla feel (which comes with its own inconveniences).

What we don’t need is casual Retail through and through.

It’s true. As stated earlier, Blizzard was aware that re-speccing between Raids and other content had become meta and in 2006 was considering a system similar to DS. However, they opted against it because they intented talent spec to be an integral part of character identity and considered the tediousness of the respec process a healthy disincentive.

No dual spec. Capping respec costs is decent compromise. People should still have to farm/make gold to respec. Keeps the economy going and forces you to play more.

Some people just want dual spec to be lazy and not have to pay gold bc they dont want to

The more I think about it, even if the Dual Spec component was 1000g initially, it wouldnt be the gold sink it needs to be over time. If you want to hardcore PvE and PvP, you can, but its a choice you’ll have to make in farming gold and time.

OR…you could just raid in your pvp spec and realize all the content is easy and doesn’t need meta builds to finish.

I mean, I just raided with my pvp destruction build back in vanilla. Was fine.

Exactly. It’s only the most loathsome of players that form groups and are worried about anything other than basic performance.

How dare you be able to have 2 builds on a season designed around testing new hybrid specs, insanity, this is beyond unbelievable.

I agree that classic plus should not have dual spec… but this isnt classic plus. This is a seasonal server, if we want a good experience for classic plus then we need people testing all these crazy things on the seasonal server, people are going to be much more likely to not experiment which all the crazy features if they have to farm gold to just respec.

We need players to go out and try all the crazy things you would expect to happen in those old vanilla realms while knowing that these servers will be taken offline at some point

As a #NoChanges supporter during Classic launch, I wholeheartedly disagree with your opinion on SoD.

This is the time to play with changes and see how it shakes out. Maybe we’re making the game too much like retail, but it’s just a seasonal experiment. We still have Era and Hardcore to play, SoD is an additional option that’s specifically meant to play with some interested shake ups.

Meh… I’m ok with it being added or not either way… BUT… That’s another 1000 gold to shell out. Have we got confirmation for the WoW token also?

Don’t want to use bot site gold sellers and I don’t like to farm gold all day long… So that sorta makes it less likely I will get it.

One spec narrows you to do world content in a sheeshy healing spec, that’s what it does, and that’s why every hybrid wants dual spec.

This is how you find guys selling gold on 3rd party sites right here. All he states is that people should buy gold. Which is what will happen. They should be handing out gold in quests / dailies to trivialize its impact, implementing personal loot, etc etc. This is NOT classic wow. IT IS experimental. If it is basic vanilla with new runes and level caps it’s going to be a colossal DUD.

I’m praying for dual spec

Specs haven’t felt like a meaningful choice since 2006. There have been “correct” specs for PVE/PVP/Leveling/Farming for a decade and a half now. Forcing people to spend 100g to switch into and out of their pvp spec every week, just so we can be totally loyal to this old bit of vestigial design that makes respecs prohibitively expensive is a win for no one. It never feels good, it probably makes respecs done less often, and it only limits us and limits BG and PVP participation.

If they want a gold sink, make respecs 5 gold tops. I bet you drain more gold from the economy over thousands more people who are finally more willing to respec more often now, rather than charging 50g that only a tiny number of rich neckbeards would pay, while the vast majority of players just live with their one spec raid spec and don’t participate in BGs or switch roles for PVE often.

Also this whole “play your class, not your spec” stuff seems very theoretical and cerebral, and totally untrue in practice. There’s a correct spec for each thing you want to do in game that will make your life and the lives of up to 39 other people easier, and most people will always just go respec for whatever it is they’re doing, and this idea we theorize about “playing the class and not the spec” means nothing outside of this hypothetical conversation.

if you genuinely do get a warm fuzzy feeling from your spec in Classic WoW, don’t buy dual spec if its added to SoD/Classic+. Then you retain your very own special spec, and from your perspective, effectively nothing will have changed for you, right?

WoW has always had respec. There is no “meaninful choice” ever in WoW. There was always an inconvenience until a QoL feature like dual spec was added.
