O ya, cause que times don’t depend on the number of people quing?
“Twink BG” as you call it is a BG that doesn’t give exp. That’s the only difference in it. Most don’t turn off exp because they are using Bgs as a way to lvl. The few who want to not lvl and play in said bracket are a minority. And among them even less of those are twinks.
The problem isn’t not enough twinks caused the que to take forever it’s when they seporated leveling players with non leveling players that made the que take forever. The super long que is what got people to stop playing their twinks.
Because before you had 100% of people at lvl X-Y that que for the BG in the que. Now it’s 95% (estimated) in exp que, and 5% in non exp que. Which resulted in people who didn’t want exp having que times up to about 1000% longer.
It wasn’t about the gear levels. It was about the wait time. I went from 5 min ques on average on my 19 twink rouge to 2 hour ques on average. And that is why I stopped playing him. So for me personally, the reason I stopped playing my twink had nothing to do with who I was playing vs. it was about how long I had to wait to just PLAY.
Being a twink didn’t make you bad at pvp, it made you invested for your level bracket, and when blizzard made ques have separate placements based on exp on or off it made the que time much much longer for people who didn’t want to out lvl their bracket.
Idk about you but when you are waiting 2+ hours to play a game it really kills the enjoyment of it.
Please continue crying, this will not change. I truly can’t wait to play classic and camp all these generation snowflake kids. Back in vanilla people were fun to camp but the general mind set of these cry babies is truly amazing and going to make it a million times better.
This kid is crying nerf twinks, soon he will be moaning to make it so you aren’t flagged to higher lvls on a pvp server. Then it will be limit item lvls effect in pvp. This is why no one agrees with you aside from idiots. Everyone can see this whiner outlook has no end to it.
If the snowflakes get their way, classic will become BFA 2.0. They literally cannot fathom the existence of classic, it offends all 9000 of their delicate sensibilities.
Queue times were bugged for Exp-off games which made queue times very very long
Twinks were always a minority. this also increased queue times
these 2 things alone was enough to make a large portion of twinks stop twinking. because when queue times go from instant to 1-2 hours long people stop caring. then it is a snowball effect. people don’t want to wait 1-2 hours for a game so they stop queuing. then the queue times become even longer. rinse and repeat cycle until queue times are several hours.
And the above situation is what happened to the 19 twink bracket, which was easily the largest bracket of twinks. the queue times for every other bracket was instantly 10+ hours. it effectively killed every bracket except 19’s.
19’s were able to get multiple, consistent games going once queue bug was fixed, and everybody all server transfered to the same battlegroup.
In conclusion. Twinks didnt stop playing because they couldn’t “pWn nOoBs aLl dAy”
they stopped playing their twinks because:
queue times were bugged leading to insane queue times.
twinks were always a big minority in BG’s which increased queue times exponentially, even if the queues weren’t bugged
people didn’t want to spend $25 to server transfer just to keep playing their twinks.
I just think classic is a good enough game with strong mechanics and core MMORPG values that adding some QoL changes won’t tarnish the feel of the game. While I agree that no changes will be good, I’m open minded and accepting of new changes. I’m not against changes, and I’m not for changes, I’m indifferent. I will play the game regardless because I genuinely love this game and the company making it.
Yell a little louder so people in the back can hear it. I stopped twinking due to 1-2 que times and sometimes it wont even pop…longest I’ve waited without que pop was 3 hours and 45 mins.
I’d like to touch on this a bit. I think people got so focused on “twinks pwning noobs” that people in decent gear steam rolled the baddies and twinks were blamed.
Omg he has a blue item! He’s a twink!
Has anyone done a quantified analysis of the relative strength, in a 10-19 BG, of:
Level 10-16 in average gear
Level 17-19 in average gear
Level 17-18 in decent gear
Level 19 in decent gear
Level 19 in 75% twink-BiS gear with maybe 50% enchants, food buffs, pots, etc.
Level 19 in 100% twink-BiS and 100% full-on twinkagified chants/buffs
Just wondering about the level of advantage gear gets you, as I’m thinking #3 and #4 is indistinguishable from #5 or #6 if you’re a #1 or maybe even a #2.
How much of an advantage does #5 have over #4, and #6 have over #5? Assume similar skill, or maybe a little better skill for the lower number – can skill easily overcome those particular gear gaps, or does the gear forgive many sins of the unskilled?
And it will be for the most part. I’m not going to sit here and pretend I know why they are entertaining the idea of sharding (among other changes), there could be a slew of reasons why. I’ve seen multiple mentions about how the servers aren’t hosted locally on-site anymore and are cloud based, but I’ve yet to see documentation supporting those claims. It could be due to overall performance, or connectivity, cost. Who knows?
I’d like to think they will make the right decision for the game and the community. We just have to trust that they will.
