Striving to get the best gear possible in a gear based game is bad because…it might hurt someones feelings - wow2019.
Vanilla was released in 2004 off the back of hardcore games like ultima online and everquest. Gamers weren’t as soft then.

there really isnt a good way to do it in classic since bgs dont give exp anyway. you cant just ban people with dungeon gear, they might have just done WC and want to do a bg or two.
banning high end enchants would be a start, but you can still make a good twink without them. there is little to no chance of this happening, its just whiners begging for changes

You already say it, they put their efforts on getting things, things that make the PvP overly easy, and not putting their efforts in being skilled guys who can deal with a rival in fair and equal conditions. That are the basics things of any competition, in any game, in any sport.

Okay? Getting over powered gear is part of that… you’re going to see the same thing at max level… it’s a part of mmo rpgs… if you want perfect balance go play a moba. This entire “no one should have an advantage” is totally cancerous. If you put in the work to deck out your 19 twink, you deserve the rewards. Don’t act all high and mighty because you don’t sound as genius as you think.
Sports also makes no sense because people are genetically gifted such as a guy like Francis Nganou who can come into a fight less skilled but his speed and strength allows him to take short cuts such, where as a guy like Damien Maya has to use perfect tenchnique and skill because he isn’t a freak athlete. Life isn’t fair, people have advantages over other people.

And you have the opportunity to put in that time as well. I can’t believe this has to be mentioned, it’s the basis of an RPG to advance your character’s power.

You know that not true. At max level everybody are racing to get better gear. In low level BG several people it’s making PvP for the diferents reasons, but no one of that reasons are “geting the best posible gear”, only Twinks do that. The most common reason for no-twinks, it’s do some PvP activity while leveling and no wait until reach max level to put a foot in the BG.
No need of that, at max level the balancing it’s pretty good, not perfect either, but still pretty good to go in a fair competition.
It’s the main philosophy on any kind of competition: game or sport. You don’t understand why it’s like that, because you are part of the “gearing culture”. Get gear it’s ok in a MMO, and the existences of adventages from one players to others have logic. But get that adventages and exploti them in secenarios like low BGs, in order to get an overly advantage over your adversarys, that destroy the sense of ant competition. No skilled competitor in any kind of competiton likes to be in an scenario where he gets an overly advantage over his adversary, unless he don’t care as much about competiton and want get something else (for example money, as we can se in some profesionals boxers).
And please don’t use the word cancer so lightly, it’s pretty wrong.

Fail reasoning. All ours characters can be equally strong, fast, and have same endure if they have same kind of gear (the only difference on this it’s over classes). Our characters are not real people, real people are unique, among famous sportsman it’s really hard (or imposible) find two person with the equal features that i quoted. The only diference are in the real person who plays the toon, on his skills and knowledge about the game. You will never note those things in a low level BG, where even the worst player if he is a dedicated twinker, can win. At this point Twinks are something like tanks in arenas.
BGs aren’t even out on classic launch.
The fact you cannot understand that getting better gear than someone is part of the game is actually frustrating. We aren’t playing a sport, this is an mmo RPG and part of an rpg is getting better gear than someone. Don’t attempt to insult my common sense when your entire post misses the point that this is what happens in this genre of game.
“Gearing culture” is hilarious because even the modern game is based around getting gear… do you realize how your argument doesn’t fit the genre of game you’re posting about?

I’m not against that. I’m against about making an over exploit on that subject, as Twinks in low levels BGs does.
… and being a skilled player also. If you think that “getting things” is the only purpose of this game, then it’s pretty clear that you don’t know what is all this about.
You’re entirely missing my point. I don’t think that’s the only part of the game but I don’t think you should be punished for doing that.
Also I don’t see why this is an issue, there aren’t even battle grounds at launch so unless you plan to stay level 19,29 etc… this is kind of a moot point.
Punished not, just create a special place in the queque for low levels BGs where only Twinks will meet. Or another way to put all those guys together away from other kind of players.
So someone that does all the instances for their lvl grinds them to get the best possible gear is auto twinking? And should be barred from bg’s? You are aware some items while lvling can last you 10+ levels. I personally on my first character in vanilla made it a goal of mine to stay well geared while leveling. So yeah once you say NO ONE does something makes you selfish and asking for changes based on your perspective alone makes u selfish.
