PLEASE consolidate TBC Classic into one or two servers

Honestly, as a latecomer to TBC Classic, I would be SO pumped if they said “hey, we’re going to keep TBC Classic up on a server or two”. I’m probably in the minority here, but I honestly don’t have much interest in Wrath Classic, so unless they’re willing to preserve TBC Classic, it’s honestly going to kill a lot of my own excitement for the game.

“two servers” for all of TBC’s population?

enjoy your 5 hour queues every night

Still better than losing TBC entirely.

One of the main goals of Classic was to preserve the game. If Blizzard doesn’t do it, private serves will. And then we will be right back where we started.

I just want to play TBC (and Classic Era) at my own pace and I WANT TO PAY BLIZZARD to continue to host their official servers and have my characters forever.

Exactly, this honestly is just creating an extremely problematic situation with no good outcome, for no good reason.

Already a LARGE pserver popping up now that is built with some of the staff of nostalrius and other large name developers in the scene for vanilla wow because Blizzard has ignored Era and failed terribly with SoM.

era realms and seasonal realms are a great idea it makes no sense that they are abandoning the idea after 1 chance

The big pull that Blizzard had over private servers was preserving your character data. That benefit is eliminated if they don’t actually preserve expansions and just rush you through like we’re revisiting retail.

It’s very disappointing. I am a casual player hoping to experience content at my own pace and so I feel a bit cheated that TBC Era is not proposed to be a thing.

EXACTLY!!!

Being able to know these are official Blizzard servers, SHOULD come with the peace of mind knowing your characters are still going to be there, years down the road.

Instead, they’re creating a wave of instability. I mean, why spend a bunch of time investing in your Wrath character, if that’s just going to give way to Cataclysm?! Or eventually, Warlords of Draenor?

I have no doubt, the TBC population is going to wane. But for a lot of players, TBC is still something special. And we should be able to enjoy that experience, even if it’s not “the cool new thing”.

Because otherwise, yeah, Blizzard is telling players – IN NO UNCERTAIN TERMS – that if you want to play a particular expansion long-term, then it is NOT going to be with Blizzard.

it feels so werid that we only get that option with vanilla and not any other expansion. blizzard could easily put up 2 servers allow clones for a certain amount of time then delete any non used clones. then well have a server with people clearing tbc content for years

It doesn’t matter what any of you or the OP wants. In the end Blizzard will do whatever is best for profit margins. There is no point in threads like this because the people who would make the call don’t care what anyone else suggests. It’s all about the $.

Threads like this are actually important to express how much community interest there is for TBC Era servers.

If bli$$ard doesnt provide a tbc classic server, the more obvious thing to happen is that those of us who like this expac will just go look for a private server and stop paying bli$$ard money, not that they really care when they have games like diablo inmmoral that required over $100k to get max on gems stuff etc etc disguising loot boxes.

With all the news of server consolidation for Classic, I REALLY hope Blizzard reconsiders allowing a TBC server to stay open.
