On Thunderfury I have 2 70 characters and a bunch more 60+ but I’m the only one on that server so I don’t play
I took a long break for a 8 months and I returned to a dead server
his video was very good and true
That’s nice.
But it wouldn’t matter if he offered a free sparkle pony to watch it - oh wait it would because it’s advertising. Just like Glinda pointed out.
But enjoy the video. Y’all can agree on his opinions. Others won’t.
Cool story, brah.
dude man speaks da truth in his video, dont take a little joke so seriously
Jokes are funny.
You can post on the TBC Forums. I believe this forum tackles all things vanilla and classic only.
this is a problem that effects classic as a whole. for the era community to truly be great we need era for more expansions rather than just classic.
I really, REALLY hope Blizzard will consider this idea. Even consolidating to a single server for each region, I think it’s honestly crappy to remove TBC COMPLETELY. You’re literally forcing players to look elsewhere if they actually want to experience TBC at that point.
And again, what happens after Wrath? Is WRATH going to go away, as well?!
Preach dude; Im happy to see somebody has started a forum up for what I think a decent amount of us are concerned with. I made two characters in addition to my “main” that were intended solely for TBC, not WotLK, and now I’m wondering why I even made them if Blizzard wasn’t going to have a way to play them within TBC-era (the choice to leave them in a forever TBC server, like Vanilla).
So, so much time wasted, and it kind of casts a pall on the future of era servers I do think Kaivax and his awesome team have been really responsive on these forums and I hope they respond to this soon!
Blizzard doesn’t do server consolidations
best you’re gonna get is some tenuous connection between them called a battle group
If they do a Classic Cata then yeah most people will just leave either that or go back to Vanilla and stay there.
There’s no such thing as “authentic” in the context of what you’re referring to. Our experience is what it is.
The problem with not supporting TBC era is that we are now back in the retail mode of forcing us into the latest expansion.
Many players are casuals and/or enjoy playing alts and haven’t been able to fully enjoy the rushed TB content release. Seasonal servers do not solve for this as that is just another rushed experience that caters to non-casuals.
The main reason why we flocked to Classic servers rather than play on private servers is because of the data integrity of preserving our characters but that simply doesn’t exist if you’re going to keep pushing us forward.
Yes, it is a lot of data to preserve and many players are not interested in it. Therefore, I am fine with a cloning fee with a fixed end date of usage (like you’re doing for Classic Era). Consolidate players to 2 servers.
Do it for the players.
Some might argue you chose that fate the moment you walked through The Dark Portal.
Since we have the ability to clone Classic Era, I disagree.
Ultimately, it’s just pulling the rug out of players’ feet. TBC Classic was never advertised as being a limited experience in any capacity; the whole reason people were excited about Classic servers was again, to experience the expansions AS THEY WERE.
I have zero doubt that Vanilla and Wrath are going to be the most populated servers (and truth be known, I actually suspect the demand for Classic Cata is quite low), TBC is still a lot of players’ favorite expansion. And I think it’s an expansion that absolutely warrants being preserved as much as any does.
Going back to complete TBC content DURING Wrath is simply NOT the same experience. That would be like saying “oh there’s no need for Wrath Classic, because all of that content still exists in retail WoW”. It’s just very obviously missing the point.
And honestly, at this point, I don’t think Blizzard should be doing ANYTHING to make players feel like their subscriptions are worth LESS. Because while it’s not my “top priority in life” or anything, I actually WOULD still very much like to experience Sunwell Plateau AT lvl 70 one day. Or Naxx-40 at lvl 60.
you think blizzard has read all these fourm post asking for tbc era? we need an answer soon.
Both here and in the TBCC forum?
Yeah I do.
It’s gonna take them some time to figure out how to backpedal and save face. On a couple of issues.
They’ve not yet started the beta for Wrath and Holly Longdale said at the beginning of May that it would be 2-3 months so that would make it in July or August. She also stated “some of the changes we’re thinking about making will be informed by the community.” So don’t give up yet. There may yet be further announcements. Until a date for Wrath Classic pre-patch is announced there is still time.
