Please, bring fresh servers for WOTLK

which would happen with a fresh server. i admire you wanting boosts being kept out of them, but blizzard wouldnt do that.

Explain the differences between a “fresh” realm and a dead realm that has no activity. They are the same. You get to build your community, you get to experience your journey, you get to make your friends, You get to experience all of those millions of things “people can’t fathom”. It isn’t saying “There’s no point”. It is saying you already have it.

The issue is. There aren’t enough people who want to or are willing to do it. Just because you put a new name on a realm. Doesn’t mean those people suddenly jump out of the woodwork and come into existence when they didn’t exist beforehand.

The only way for “fresh” to work. Is to absolutely erase everything that is currently here. Otherwise, there aren’t going to be enough people willing to do it.

Scroll up, I’ve already answered that question.

If you haven’t seen fresh servers in Classic, you haven’t been paying attention.

Hint: they’ve happened at least twice in Classic.

HTH

Personally I’m just tired of talking to the Wall of No posters. They don’t want fresh, so it’s literally beyond their comprehension that others do. I’ve explained the differences between fresh vs. rerolling on a dead realm a hundred times. They’re not remotely comparable. The Wall of No’s response is always ‘nuh uh!!” You can’t reach those people because they just want to argue.

If Blizz had a clue they’d realize how massive the draw a fresh Wrarh server would be. But they don’t.

Then stop doing it.

It’s different because a reroll project requires the communication and coordination of a massive amount of people. A fresh server doesn’t require such improbable logistic hurdles because it will attract masses of people regardless.

Also, a reroll project doesn’t change the fact that the realm isn’t a fresh start.

Did I respond to them? No. I’m merely speaking in general.

A dead server can be wiped and transformed to fresh, why not? Announce it as fresh, then.

But the problem is, some people will have characters and memories there that they wanna keep. As for a fresh server, no one cares, because nothing is left behind, and doesn’t require coordination. People read fresh, want fresh, they’ll go fresh. Also, most people that want fresh are willing to balance pop ratio between factions and get classes going for new guilds.

As long as they are extra servers and don’t force us to start fresh. I’ve put a lot of work into alts specifically in prep for Wrath and would hate to have that progress wiped lol.

But I’m okay with them putting a couple extra servers specifically to be “fresh”.

at least somebody actually responded with any reason why.

again im not against fresh, go for it, but i just doubt the effectiveness especially when blizzard wouldnt limit boosts.

If fresh servers were a massive draw, this thread would have more than 2 likes and you wouldn’t be seeing “Walls of no”.

The reality is the audience for fresh servers would have fun for the first 3 months and then they get bored, so what’s the solution? Another fresh server.

Those people are addicted to “early stages” of the game. That’s all they care for.

You know what, I hope you get what you want. So when it fails. Maybe you will learn. There is a pattern to things. Not everything on the other side is sunshine and daisy.

You need a new player base. It just is not there. I’m sorry if that isn’t what you want to hear, but that is how it is.

With how Blizzard works you have to wait for WotLK Era or WotLK SoM. That would be enough to fragment the player base from players that don’t want to move into Cata Classic and those that do.

Holy hell, I agree with Bloom… okay that is enough internet for today.

I know I’m being baited, but this is word for word what the Wall of No trolls said about Vanilla servers. And they were massively successful and had amazing player retention. Wow, shockingly those trolls were dead wrong.

It’s amazing how history repeats itself.

That’s not true. They were right about a lot of players. A lot of people tried Classic out and didn’t like it at all.

They thought they did, but they didn’t. Even moreso nowadays when everyone and their mother is asking for changes.

IMO there should be 2 fresh servers, one PVP and one PVE, for WotLK and they should do something with the dead servers at the same time. Maybe a realm connection or even gradually close them (Blizzard hates closing realms but the first option would work too).

There are definitely people who would have fun playing fresh. It allows people to find others organically, make new guilds and build a new community.

I think it would be a good thing overall.

… and yes the reroll projects don’t tend to work. Sadly. People tried this for TBCC, they had like 3000 who planned to reroll on a dead server and that project didn’t last long at all.

Yeah, no. The difference between Vanilla Server and fresh server for going into wrath. Is that one was a new thing with hundreds of thousands of new/returning players from pservers, and the other is just something that already exists but is claimed to be “new” with no new/returning players and those desiring hoping to take players away from all the work they are already done to start anew(and by thatat I mean quit the realms they are on for this fresh realm).

It isn’t remotely the same thing.

EDIT: In addition, this reroll project thing that apparently failed because the people who supposedly want this fresh realm thing couldn’t organize themselves to all go to one realm to do it. Despite no cost what. What makes you think these same people would be able to achieve that on a fresh realm?

Blizzard says “Hurrah, here is your fresh realm never been touched”. Everyone starts playing there immediately?.. or everyone does exactly what they did with this reroll project and we just end up with another dead realm no one is on.

F R E S H when? Lol you missed the boat. Get over it.

Gatekeepers gonna gatekeep. Things never change.

But Blizz would have to be complete fools to not realize how successful a fresh Wrath server would be. Almost certainly it would be the highest populated Wrath server, and stay that way.

If by gatekeeping you mean opening the gates so that you can get exactly what you want and then have it fail because it isn’t going to go how you think. Then yeah gatekeeping.

Could it succeed? maybe. Would it be the highest populated realm? Not in the slightest. This isn’t back in the day. It never will be. The players aren’t what they once were. Anyone who wants to play wrath on the second go-around officially is already here. If they weren’t playing TBC then they are preparing for wrath. They have chosen the realms they are going to play on. They aren’t going to give up months of prep work to reroll a fresh realm.
