“Nobody would quit” is not a very good metric to make design decisions by.
That’s like a car manufacturer saying “Well, at least nobody would die!” when testing seat belts…
Also, nobody would quit because achievements are watered down now. No one cares about them because people like you act all entitled until they get them for free. If you brought back scarab lord, immortal, undying, conqueror of ulduar, grand crusader, etc, people would stop playing. A small amount of people, since they most with these achievements stopped playing like 10 years ago, which is why it’s so rare and should stay rare. It should be a sight to see, not just another default title for a level 100 gnome running laps around Stormwind because they ran out of mounts to farm that week.

I don’t mind if people get chance to try out Mage Tower. Just give me the chance to do the same with previous old challenge content.
Still it does destroy the whole incentive. So it might be more offensive to more people than others.

I guess exclusivity really matters to a lot of players here. I don’t feel I’m being entitled. If they brought the event back I’d put in the effort to get the artifacts like anyone else, I’d just simply have the time to achieve those goals unlike when they were active at the time.

It wouldn’t be the same because the balance wouldn’t be the same. It’s the equivalent of someone clearing timewalking Black temple trying to pass themselves off as someone who actually cleared it back when it was relevant content. It’s not the same, and thus the rewards shouldn’t be the same.

Except we wouldn’t be getting them for free if they scaled us back to the original power needed to do them.

Many might argue that if they were THAT important to you, you would have found the time to do them when they were current. This wasn’t a surprise. They made it known that the appearances were limited time only. If you couldn’t find the time to get the ones you wanted over the course of 2 years then how important were they really?
I started playing in Legion, and was pretty new to the game when the artifact challenges came out. I was incredibly proud of the 3-4 artifact appearances I managed to get. You better believe that I still use the glowcat feral skin! The idea of people just walking back in and 1-shotting the bosses to get them just kinda makes me sad honestly.
Whether you only managed to get one or two appearances, or got every single one before the end of the xpac, I think the point still stands: those were hard to get, so let those that worked hard to get them have them as trophies, instead of giving them out to everyone that passes by.

I’d be up for some Shadowlands Timewalking Mage Tower to get re-colors of appearances and have you scale down to that power level. At the very least, gives people something agitating and annoying to do.

Its available you have to do RATED battlegrounds for it though.
Both are achievements that you can only achieve in a window of time. Different rewards, same concept.

The difficulty of getting a hall of fame title is way higher than the mage tower though. It’s not really the same imo but whatever
Like I’ve already said, this is impossible. Clearing time walking Black temple is not the same as clearing black temple during TBC. The challenge is entirely different, and so should be the rewards. IDC if the towers come back, if you want to see the content like you said, go see it. Just don’t get the same rewards as the people who actually did it. You’re entitled.
Why not? Bring back one challenge reward, bring back them all. What’s the difference? Someone put hours of effort and resources to achieve them, who is the arbiter of what rewards are the most rewardy and should be untainted? You, apparently, Mr. Entitled.
