Please Bring Back First Aid

Imagine playing a class that requires healing. Are you sure you are playing hunter correctly? They do have one self heal and the capacity to buy healing potions.

I don’t think accurately stating that the nodes are less common than most of the other node types, and only drops 1-2 cloth per is goalpost moving.

It’s just factual. They drop a pittance of cloth and aren’t super common. You’re talking like 100+ times the effort for the same cloth gains as just having tailoring. It’s essentially zero, even with maxed points in the tree around it.

Just buy them on the auction house.

This is a MMO.
You can buy it in the Auction house or ask someone to make it for you.
If you want to make it yourself, roll Tailoring. It is your choice.

Don’t complain about it.

This response is ridiculous for several reasons.

  1. I take you haven’t been around long enough to know that First Aid was a secondary profession that didn’t require tailoring back in the best expansions. I’m an Alchemist and Herbalist, why would I want to Tailoring when I’ve always had the option of First Aid?
  2. Good luck finding them on the AH, and nor would I get them there. It’s not meant to be in tailoring and tailoring doesn’t have the other abilities I listed.
  3. This is an** MMO, no a. And I’ll discus whatever topic I like. The game was better when we had First Aid. You’re the only one complaining.

Ranked profession mats has got to be in the top 5 worst gameplay decisions ever made by the development team.

You could just buy them off the Auction house, if you don’t want to make them yourself.

If Archeology is going the way of First Aid, however, then Dwarfs should get Find Treasure back as that could be really helpful in Delves.

I concur with the return of first aid but as a secondary profession with an arsenal of cleanse items, a battle res item and other situational stuff on a fairly long, possibly shared cooldown similar to brez is now so it’s not totally broken in M+

That’s not the point. The game was better when First Aid was available because it adding to the game and had potential to add more. It’s better to have it as a side profession with multiple possibilities. I’ve never bought bandages from anyone and I shouldn’t have to. I’ve always been on top of First Aid, Fishing, Cooking, and all the cool survival stuff.

Speaking of which, Blizzard really needs to make the world adventuring a bigger focus again like it was in classic. Back then, professions really mattered.

IDC that I can buy them, or make them on an alt. I h8 that they took first aid away from me in the 1st place.

They are nice to have after larger pulls and the healer is taking a water break.

Even in classic I try to make my healer’s life easier. As I am sure after they down their water they don’t want to now burn 25 to 50% of their mana fixing the dps.

who has been standing there the whole time. the whole time they could have bandaged or fooded their hp.

Yea I’d like first aid back too. Not even sure why they got rid of it.

I know right? Why take away something fun that was practical and added to the game? There’s so much they could do with it.

Removing First Aid, but adding it back into the game under Tailoring is just the Blizzard goofster design we’re used to at this point.

At least it’s not completely abandoned, like Archaeology was. (Especially in DF where we had that faction kinda made for achaeology.)

(And now, we’re underground. But no fossils to be seen.)

I proudly display my “Field Medic” title on my healers as a testament to my devotion to First Aid.

First Aid was a must-have for non-healers, especially in early WoW. And classes that couldn’t cure poisons, could make antidotes through it.

It’s usefulness waned over the years, especially when every class got their own heals.

I used to use it on my warrior a lot. I don’t even know of any arguments against having it.

Maybe they looked at the playerbase and engagement metrics, and they were low.

i never used first-aid on any of my characters… except my warrior. felt right to use it after a big scrap. wish they’d bring it back.

to be very clear: i suck at playing warrior. but first-aid made it easier for me.

That’s awesome! I loved all that stuff. And yeah the devs just grew more out of touch as time went on.

Honestly, it was just laziness. They just didn’t think from the point of view of players who genuinely liked survival and being prepared. Especially since the adventuring process has become so watered down.

Absolutely. Cooking and fishing was always a huge help too.

Eh, I dunno – there is already a lot of self healing in this game.

Bandages made a lot of sense 20 years ago when every class didn’t already have a self heal… and when there were a lot less mechanics in the game… so if you needed to take a couple seconds to bandage it was usually reasonably safe to do so. Nowadays there is constantly aoe damage/dots/floor effects…

This also undermines a lot of what they just did to make healers more impactful.

I think conceptually it’s a cool idea, but I’m not sure how it fits into current WoW without causing some problems.

If this were to be like a support/healing spec for hunters or rogues though – I could see that fitting into the game assuming they don’t nix Augs… but it couldn’t rely on farming cloth if they did that.

I like the creativity though!
