I like mature themes and a touch of toxicity in my games.

Why is this suddenly the black sheep of social engineering in online communities like WoW?

What you’re asking for isn’t “adult maturity”. It’s adult immaturity.

While the squeaky-clean stuff is definitely getting rather overbearing and annoying, there’s better ways to add maturity to the game than dirty pictures and words.

The problem is that it involves a lot more nuance, something Blizz has never really been known for.

It’s not coming back.

It’s funny when you realize Warcraft 1 & 2 will remain darker than WoW will ever be.

Gaming as a whole has had a tonal shift. It’s ‘safer’ now, like with movies.

Even Call of Duty isn’t as dark as it used to be.

Yeah, yeah let’s make fun of Paris but they’re right.

They removed my favorite /silly (“What’s estrogen? Can you eat it?”) because it was some how offensive.

The OP isn’t ridiculous, Blizzard is.

Mine was the troll male joke about ‘smoking two dwarves’ (meaning blunts), removed because it was a drug reference.

It was also the longest joke in the game.

There’s something to be said, when fantasy elements and fun stuff are removed because of real life.

Like, we still have alcohol in the game, and weed is pretty much legal now.
