Oh, I agree with you. People who go through the effort to group up are very clearly putting a better product on the field.
The benefit you receive for queuing with your friends is just that…
You get to play with your friends.
As for low quality games, I think a 5 minute game during which 1 team got camped at the graveyard for 4.5 of those minutes definitely qualifies.
If that’s the meta, I have no problem suggesting that I won’t adhere to it, Lease.
That’s not the Vanilla PvP I remember.

But why are you so opposed to having pug vs pug and premade vs premade?
The entire process of “making a good team” is all that is comes down to, you Q with a bunch of high rankers, see that the other team is composed of a bunch of randos, you win the game before you even started. They probably wont put up much of a fight and wont rez.
Like why would pug v pug/ pre v pre be such a bad idea? Does it kill your honor per hour?

They are opposed to anything that cuts into their hph. Farming pugs is great hph.

Gotta love the people in this thread claiming this is how the game was in vanilla. Cross realm bgs came three months before the honor system got revamped. The vast majority of highwarlords got that rank with server only queues. The meta back then was account sharing not premading.

Premade vs Premade would be a real game, and what we’re doing instead is just maximizing honor gain for the purposes of gear acquisition and not playing the game as it was intended to be played?

If every PUG you join faces nothing but premades, that means
PreMades outnumber pugs, by a large margin (do the math)
That also means that a premade sees another PREMADE more often than they see a PUG (Its the same math)
Then form a premade of some sort.
There is no competition in a PUG, because nearly no one listens to or supports each other.
Solo queuing is pretty much just that, most times you are on your own.
Not that you can not get a good pug, but it is pretty doubtful, and if you do find one, it probably has at least one 5 man team in it

There is no justification why Pugs can’t face Pugs, and why Premades can’t face Premades.
People who stand against it have an ulterior motive by directly benefitting from a broken system.
And that is the only legitimate* justification there is.

while I agree they shouldn’t …they have already done it more then a few times what makes you think they wouldn’t do it again, they opened pandoras box with the changes they have already made, now all these people are going to do is continue to ask for more and more changes. then when they do and chase off most of the player base they will say “see you thought you did but you didn’t not understanding the changes they made are why people left.”
Why would you have a pug team full of new 60s? Why would you BG as a new 60?
Do you want to gain honor and reputation?

To go back to your pickup basketball game analogy… in your analogy, you think the NBA teams should face the NBA teams, and pickup games play together. Thats cool. But then the rewards should fit your analogy. You don’t get to go for the NBA rewards as a pickup player.
So yeah, according to your analogy, no ranks for the random solo queue players. Better hope you are good enough to get picked up by them ranking premades.
