FALSE. the official post indicated GDKP was inseparable from RMT and illicit RMT is cheating. GDKPers couldnt resist the urge to cheat via illicit RMT. the ban is GDKPers own fault because they repeatly cheated in EVERY gdkp.

Lol at the gdkp enthusiasts saying “why is the economy so bad I thought it was all gdkps”, but they’re intentionally ignoring the fact that people have had multiple farms where they were able to farm hundreds of gph, numbers we were never able to farm in previous vanilla iterations.

they are trolling clowns. most of them were selling gold via RMT. GDKP community are cheaters and liars and everyone knows it.
Well whatever the reason, the link above I posted was from today over in Customer Support forums.
That post says a whole GDKP guild was hammered. Some of the players had not played in some time. It was on Benediction, which is a WotLK server where GKDP’s are currently allowed.
I also noticed that this guild ‘took a break’ from GDKP right around when SoD GDKP ban happened (if my memory serves me). Which is kinda…yeah.
My guess is Blizz ain’t playing around and I’d be very very careful with them. Same thing with xserver gold transfers, there have been posts for people hammered recently for that as well…they ended up trading with a known RMT outlet.

there are plenty of other options like +1, 2sr, play retail, classic era or wrath classic. retail/wrath even have tokens so you can directly buy gold from blizz and then use that to get your gear, not need to rmt like in sod for gdkp
yes as i have said. blizzard has hit cheaters hard. botting and RMT are way down bc of it. f around and find out if you dont believe me.

I will say this though, to hit a whole guild Blizz must have had solid evidence.

They did not use or indicate that the two were inextricably linked. You are welcome to quote where they did.
And the RMT component was indicated to be secondary - or at most, equal - to the consideration of social structures. It was not the primary reason.
when the lead dev is talking about cheating as a problem in a post banning something, it means cheating was a problem. when the lead dev says there is a link between GDKP and the urge to cheat in a post about banning GDKP. it means cheating and gdkp is a problem. you can try to read into it however you want. blizzard knows what you and everyone else knows. GDKP was FULL of cheating in EVERY GDKP. sorry you think Bliz are dumb. they arent.

In all seriousness, what does it matter to you as you as a random player whether the economy is in shambles because of RMT or because of the gross amount of raw gold being injected via incursions? Gold is basically worthless either way.
