The people here talking, the people voting in polls, the loud majority the classic PLAYERS. Are not a market force. Blizzard pioneered whale bleeding.
You’ll see me right there in you saying as much about blizzard being a soulless profit driven company. Pretty sure we agreed on that in the past several times. But they did put in free xfers and they could do it again, no need to be so nihilistic about it.
You’re not wrong, but you kind of are. Retail and classic share the same market space. The sub is for both. You have players that exclusively play one or the other for sure. But classic in particular are veteran players. Who have seen this grift for years or have already experienced it.
And defending the fact they want money as if it justifies it is kind of silly. I’ve paid for over 10 transfers over the life of my wow experience. But I’ve also canceled for the bulk of expansions meaning they traded 25 once for 30 or even 45 repetitively with just me alone, because I noped out like so many other players. Lots don’t even bother transferring and cut their losses. Killing the chicken instead of gathering the eggs so to speak.
It’s not even about the dead realms it’s the fact they deliberately make the game less healthy than it could be, which is why classic even exists people wanting to experience what they had in the past. But they’re trying with people who have already been ripped off and aren’t to keen for round 2. It’s incredibly unhealthy for all of wow not just classic or retail.
Gimping the game makes more money, sorry the quiet part is too loud.
And pointing the plane at the ground makes it go faster until it stops. You’re not saying anything we all don’t already know, you just seem to be ok with it.
This thread is for calling attention to the elephant in the room that has spiraled out of control since Classic’s launch: realm populations. They have been wildly mismanaged and largely ignored by Blizzard, whose primary response to their players’ concerns has been to offer Character Migration services: a non-solution that only further exacerbates the problem.
LFD does nothing to help players on low pop realms conduct open world quests/groups/raid, form guilds, trade profession services like enchanting, or make a living on the Auction House. Wanting LFD is one thing but don’t use low population players as a shield in your crusade for getting your way and then act as if you speak on our behalf all the while you continue to play on a 27k pop realm.
They’re very wary of classic veterans which is why they have even been surveying what they will consider adding to the game. It’s nonsensical for them to keep destroying game health and disenfranchising players to get the equivalent of 2 months sub out of people.
At this point yeah. After playing vanilla through MOP, then watching the game tank through the next couple expansions and after seeing a light on the horizon in 2019 in the form of classic. It very quickly was evident to me that the light was a dumpster fire, that has been burning for three years now. Let em tank it.
