Neither of those are time exclusive rewards lol.
Yeah I’m aware that Blizz is going to change things but their stance on time limited rewards is pretty rock solid and I’ve never seen them budge on it.

This November marks the 10-year anniversary of World of Warcraft, and we’re cooking up a few in-game plans to commemorate the occasion. Here’s a quick preview of what’s in store:
These events and rewards will only be available for a limited time

Wtf are you talking about? Your original post was about high elf appearances which I said Blizz never gave an official statement that they weren’t going to be added. Just like the other things you just mentioned like covenant swapping, etc, Blizz never officially said that those things weren’t subject to change.
The mage tower is completely different. They stated multiple times that they will not bring back the original appearances.
I wish certain people would channel their whining to something actually useful that would make the game fun for more people, rather than being envious of others stuff and trying to take it. You don’t need mage tower appearances that Blizzard promised were time-exclusive. You don’t need em. You don’t. There are so many other things wrong with this game that getting worked up about this is questionable.
To recap: I made a post describing various issues that had various threads in their time of relevance and cited those as something similar to the issue of mage tower appearances which currently is a issue that people talk about. You responded by saying that these examples aren’t relevant as these initial examples were not things that blizzard had made a hard stance on. I responded by citing more of such issues that had such a hard stance taken. You responded by dismissing this by saying neither of those examples were time exclusive rewards despite me not arguing about that issue at all.
I had not been arguing particular for mage tower weapon appearances up to that point, though I do think they should come back. I’m arguing that its fine for people to be able to make a case for their return.

Fortunately I have examples that I’m always happy to provide when people claim Blizz doesn’t reintroduce limited-time rewards after stating such rewards were limited
Insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result. The mage tower skins will never be brought back. Best start farming the t-mogs from BfA and SL. And the balance of power skins on every class.
Mage tower weapon mogs are for closers only.
Covenant swapping had an official statement if I recall correctly. So did cross faction groups. Blizzard says a lot of things, its fine to not agree with people, but if people want to take issue with a part of the game they are within their rights to voice their complaints even if others find it annoying or w/e.
This is very true and usually I’m the first to say “never say never” but there are things that have now outlasted “we’re not selling gold!” “factions can’t play together!” and that’s bringing back stuff they told us they’re not bringing back.
This, for the moment, seems to be their line in the sand.
Bring them back as recolors, like the current set rewards. That’s the only compromise that works.
I love the comment about logical arguments vs spewing emotions in the 5,000th thread about wanting Mage Tower appearances back. Ironic.
I have them all of the Mage Tower appearances, and I think blizzard should bring them back. Honestly, who cares? This was not an achievement. if they had removed them in 7.2, then there would be some prestige, but you could farm these things in 7.3 and it was a COMPLETE joke.
These aren’t glad mounts or mythic mounts (which, IMO, should be removed at the end of a tier). The only requirement to get these was “play legion”.
Why not bring them back so people who weren’t playing during that time can have some fun and get them?

What are you talking about?
As others have mentioned, Blizzard reverses their stance all the time. Continuing to remind them that there are players who want this is important to effect change.
Everyone is a better player now. I hardly played WoW before Legion so it wasn’t some participation trophy for me.
I managed to complete the much harder challenges in Timewalking, but that doesn’t mean the Legion challenges weren’t an achievement. Everyone is a pro player at WoW now compared to that time when a lot of players like myself were new.
I had never played a single spec besides ret paladin before Legion. I had never played any raid besides LFR, had never used a single addon, and didn’t even have my spell bars (nevermind keybinds) set up properly. So some of them were actually more challenging for me than they were this time around.
Anyway, the thread starter has achievements from 2013 and probably prior (didn’t look very hard) so they are not some brand new player. They had an opportunity. Blizzard gave them a good amount of time to complete it. They couldn’t close the opportunity they were given? They couldn’t close it? Then they don’t get them. Hit the bricks pal and beat it. They’re for closers.
I was going through a divorce and losing my house and couldn’t afford rent, let alone WoW. People have lives outside of the game and shouldn’t be locked out of hundreds of weapon appearances for missing a patch of solo content. Timed solo content has nothing to do with skill, especially solo content where you can out gear it, cheese it, and just try over and over again. I solo five masked during BfA and I know that any idiot with enough time could do the same thing.
Pinning your hat on these appearances as an accomplishment is pathetic. Glad is an accomplishment. Cutting edge is an accomplishment. MT means you subbed during Legion. That’s it.
So explain why you have achievements from, for example, July 2018.

BfA release date? August 14, 2018.
I found that achievement in 30 seconds so I doubt it would be hard to find more.
You just didn’t close. Period. Mage tower mogs are for closers only.
Which means that I got to play right before BfA came out, with gear from WoD and no time to get anywhere close to the endgame.
My point stands and you’re still super cringe.

“A” patch? It was 5 patches. Across 1.3 years. Stretching from early 2017 to beyond the half-way point of 2018.
Pinning your hat on these appearances as an accomplishment is pathetic.
Awww…
MT means you subbed during Legion.
No. Many, many, many people who attempted the original MT challenges failed on one or more or all of them.
If it was merely a participation trophy, then that was more than enough time to level and complete the mage tower.
If it wasn’t enough time, then you are conceding that it was more than a participation trophy.
