Playing without game time

I dont know if this is a bug or WAI. I put a ticket in-game about the issue and the issue still persists. My subscription time expired and I was ready to renew my subscription following the prepatch. However, I can play on all of my characters without any penalties or game time. Is there a known bug about this or is the pre patch free because of the expansion delay? I don’t want to get into trouble, I am trying to help Blizzard if this is a bug by making them aware.

There can be a delay for the account to catch up to subscription i wouldnt worry too much.

same here. my time expired night before last and i was booted. played sub 20’s last nite, and just now discovered that i can play all my toons without any game time, subscription expired.

Could you all look at your account settings on the site here and see what it says? Maybe Blizzard gave everyone a free day or two because of all the connection issues that happened when the patch launched?

Same on the wow1 account attached to this battle.net account.

Can login and collect mail of level 26 character although sub is expired and account settings show it as inactive with the “Add a Subscription” text link next to it.
No characters are flagged as unavailable.

I know that Blizzard sometimes allows a 2-3 day grace period when a sub expires but ISTRC that the battle.net account info would still be flagged as active regardless of the launcher saying expired, until the grace period expired.

Yeah i did look to see if they gave any free days, found nothing. also my other wow1 account with f2p toons is unaffected–all restrictions in place, no mail, auction, etc.

It could be just a grace period given at the end of the paid time incase a pending bank transaction is taking longer than intended.

Same, i can play without time, I tried to pay it but when I put “make payment” it charges me and at the end it returns me to the previous page, but idk why. I am afraid of being banned by this bug

Players who consistently have time on their account often get a 2-3 day grace period to apply time when their current time runs out.

If the launcher said unsubbed, and the account info in battle.net said active, you were in a grace period until the account info displayed “Inactive”.

This time around, The launcher said unsubbed nd the account info said inactive and I had full access to all characters without restrictions.

However, a couple of days later, All the veteran account restrictions have kicked into place so it appears there was just a wording change on the account info and the old method I used for ID’ing a grace period no longer applies.
