Before I get any comments about it: Yes, I know leveling is extremely fast and easy. No, this isn’t a demand for the slimecat mount.
However, with Season 4 clearly being a raid-focused expansion and with LFR not offering much in the way of anything interesting, I was hoping that Blizzard would do the right thing and at least give us something to play with until Dragonflight came out. I was hoping that that thing would be the EXP boost and that Blizzard would do the right thing and just extend it until Dragonflight. Imagine my (lack of) surprise when they didn’t.
Why, Blizzard? Dragonflight is still months out. Is it really so hard to just do things that appeal to all demographics? Why must you insist on focusing on one and one only?
They are talking about giving something to casuals to do for end of season who want to level alts because the buff is fun and people were hoping for it to be extended because they don’t run dungeons or raids
The leveling content is out there even with no xp boost. Don’t see why that’s a huge issue. You got 4-5 months before DF, ample time to level up toons if that’s your game.
And there are tons of content outside of LFR if you want to farm cosmetics.
I mean cmon lfr would have lasted ye like a day in total.
But will say the world content in sl is significantly worse the bfa. I actually enjoyed just going around in the world lookin at junk but now the areas we have in sl are soo incredibly small and empty.
Replies like this is exactly why the game is dying but go ahead and go on telling players who are upset to play another game. If enough do then what WOW is shut down and you have no one to blame but yourselves.
Maybe instead of saying go play another game suggest something the player might not have thought of doing.
I’ve been my spending time doing jigsaw puzzles on jigsawplanet.com and eating cakes from Costco.
When my partner finishes playing Stray, I will probably play it on their computer. I am sure I will log into the game again before Dragonflight but no reason right now.
Because that would have been logical, and fun! We all know how Blizz operates, and doing something for the solo players would probably cause them to melt, like water did to the wicked witch of the west!
What I find amusing is they could take the time and effort to update all the SL raids, add extra mechanics, update old dungeons for Mythic+, but couldn’t update the cypher or updated the WQ in old zones to have updated ilvls.
Really makes you wonder how much effort they really are going to put into open world content in Dragonflight, if they put any effort in at all.
I believe it is in part due to the fact that this is just a filler season for competitive stuff. It’s not an expansion, it’s not a content patch. It’s literally just a reset for score/raid prog with a few different dungeons and affixes peppered in. This wasn’t intended to be anything monumental at any point.
This late in an xpac where they already cut the content patch cycle short, I don’t think it’s reasonable to expect that kind of content, though.
Like. I get it. While I do M+ and raid and blah blah blah, I actually do love casual world content. I periodically roll a new toon to enjoy the solo questing process.
That being said, it comes to a point where you need to accept what the game is and play what’s there or move on. There will be more content in 10.0, you could let your sub lapse 'til then. Or, you could play the AH or something.
I know it’s not ideal, but I guess I am a realist/fan of playing the hand you are dealt.
You either like what the game has to offer or you find a different one until this one DOES have something you like.
Don’t take this the wrong way-- especially with a game this old, what you want and what Blizzard offers are not always going to align.
I do sincerely hope content you like becomes more common, OR you find some existing content to play that you enjoy.
I mean, I’m not even asking for new content. I’m just asking for something to keep us entertained while we wait. I was perfectly content with the EXP boost being that thing.
Blizzard could have recycled some open world content the same way they did with raids. I don’t see that as being unreasonable.
