I’m super annoyed that wasn’t extended until 10.0. Seemed like a weird choice.
I also think they should have upped WQ equip in both the original zones AND ZM.
I had a discussion with a few friends in discord and this was very much my take on the entire S4 scenario. If you aren’t a Mythic+ player and if you do not Raid, then really S4 is a status quo and frankly bust for you.
There really should have been some type of goal even for those who just do outdoor world, solo player content regardless.
I run M+ and can’t stand the S4 line-up. I’ve pugged my way to ksm previously & don’t like the thought of getting so far behind ilvl-wise. I ran over 250 mythics in S3 alone - but if blizzard wants to continue throwing these old dungeons into an entire mythic season, bugs and all, I for one am out. A game is meant to be fun.
I would certainly be all for the bonus being extended, as I have a character I’m playing now level 28, but what does that have to do with being bored?
Is it just the idea that raiders got something and we didn’t? Because even if you go through it twice as fast, that isn’t going to change your boredom with the leveling content. Are you just trying to have more max level characters ready for DF?
I just find stuff in old content to farm or find. Or start a new character.
Theres lots to do as long as you are willing to play old content.
which really makes blizzard look stupid when they keep removing that old content thats literally saving their joke game when they cant keep up with new content
Buff definitely helped get you through the awfulness that is SL areas, but in reality I’m more waiting until next expansion where chromie time hopefully lets you level 50-60 in any other zones you want.
Sadly WoW has been lacking in the world content/solo player experience lately, especially since they keep hiring/promoting people that are far more into M+ and Raids so they keep focusing more on those.
For the people saying to “Level/Play Classic” Classic has it’s own issues, including the lack of availability of being able to do dungeons while leveling while you’re in that dungeons level range - not to mention it plays completely different to retail for those that enjoy retail.
I just realized what your problem is OP - you’re not playing Alliance!
We have all kinds of great leveling zones, from the idyllic Elwynn Forest to the creepy forests of Duskwood, with the murloc-infested shores of Westfall in between. And who could forget John J. Keeshan in Redridge!
Probably because the raid stuff and bringing older dungeons into the M+ space are things they need to try out for the future. Their ability do so, and this season provides that. They’re obviously getting a lot of data about tuning issues for when this is done in DF and beyond.
Upgrading WQ content is not something they needed to test, they know how to do this already. It’s unfortunate that this means solo / casual players “didn’t get anything” in S4 but it’s not some omen that such content will just be terrible and unfulfilling in the future.
They are only interested in elite players. They don’t care if 90% of the playerbase leaves. Maybe they are still chanting the mantra that they can easily convert all those barely lucid casuals and solo players into the hardest core esports fanatics, just by forcing them into raiding, or back into raiding for the many who raided before and chose to stop. Or by starving them of content and gear.
They think they know you better than you know yourself. They think they understand human nature, and why and how people play games. They think they do but they don’t.
Only problem I have with this is, they had the ability to update raids with new mechanics, update old dungeons for Mythic+, but couldn’t find the time or put forth the effort to either add a new level or two to the cypher system, or just update WQ to scale up.
Maybe, maybe not, but it doesn’t do them any favors if they knew how to do it already but didn’t. Just feels like they didn’t want to put forth the time and effort, which would make me question how much time and effort will they put towards the same content in Dragonflight.
People keep pointing at XP boosts being the thing to do for casual players but I don’t agree at all. Part of the reason leveling and open world content is dull in retail is because of the huge degree it’s all been streamlined, and XP boosts exacerbate that… gear doesn’t matter, the abilities you choose to use don’t matter, nothing matters. Just pick an expansion and faceroll to cap.
What I would like to see is a leveling mode with some teeth on it. Think a Challenge Mode variation on Chromie Time or something like that, where one needs to utilize more than a single brain cell and the content is substantial enough to chew on for a while.
