Playing classic WOTLK rn and it feels so much better than retail

I agree with the OP and have been playing this game for one hell of a long time. Your attempt to devalue his opinion because of your (poorly thought out) opinion about them posting on a classic character, is invalid.

Iā€™ve really been enjoying classic WOTLK this time around.
But I was leveling a Horde hunter on the fresh realm.

  1. That realm is apparently already looking like itā€™s Alliance dominated
  2. 3 hour queues when I want to play.
  3. No character transfer available for me. :frowning:

So I boosted a Hunter on a realm I can log into. Which has, for now, sapped all the fun until WOTLK launch.

Yup, those queues are killing the desire to play for so many people and Blizz is too lazy and cheap to lift a finger to do anything about it. And if you think the queues are bad now; wait until launch day hits. Weā€™re going to have servers down, server restarts, and queues that last 5+ hours even on low pop.

Iā€™m happy for people who enjoy playing classic. If people donā€™t want to play retail, fine. I just donā€™t understand why they feel the need to come to the retail forum and talk about classic.
Did they do away with the classic forum?

Yeah. It is going to be bad.
No idea what they were thinking when they only added 1 fresh realm initially. Bumped it to 2 (and now I think a 3rd?). But the damage is done. Skyfury is already mega server. Benediction is crammed more than an Indian train during rush hour (those videos are always scary). And Feralina is about as bad.

im level 67 right now on my dk lol.

Iā€™ve been noticing how much more often I have friendly interactions with other players due to the need to group up for quests so we donā€™t have to wait in line for a rare quest mob. Doing it informally and socially instead of through a group finder generates 1,000% better community behavior. When the groups are all informally and individually put together, there is much less sense of entitlement.

I noticed this too. People are alot more nicer lol. Well thereā€™s always bad apples but majority of my experience with it rn in classic WOTLK is very positive.

it got ruined. it was even worse than the Shadowlands version of the zombie event. They added priests that would one shot every zombie and instantly cleanse every player as soon as you got near to all the main capitol flight paths, auction houses, banks ect. If you wanted to have any real damage done you couldnā€™t. You were stuck to areaā€™s nobody cares about.

Seriously? It was fun and easy and I enjoyed the nostalgia even if I donā€™t want to play a DK further. How was it possibly frustrating? The quests lead you by the hand through the whole thing.

Speak up in chat and ask if anyone wants to group with you. If itā€™s a busy quest area, usually people will. That largely takes care of the mob tapping.

What does that have to do with what Iā€™m talking about, ie the promo ?

Iā€™ve never been a big quester, theyā€™re just yellow dots on a map to me, go there, kill stuff, loot stuff and hand in, when confronted with the old way of doing things (quests not tracking or showing any indication of where youā€™re meant to go aside from whatā€™s stated in the quest text), it becomes an exercise in frustration.

While Wotlk was my favorite expansion I really had no intention of playing it again.

If anything Classic showed just how aged and creaky these early efforts are by todays standards.

Once I heard they were deleting LFG that really solidified for me my lack of desire to revisit the expansion.

However, I really wanted that frost brood mount so I decided to do the dk intro. And, my goodness, the game play was bad. I could barely stand to play. Dated graphics, all the good quality of life advancements deleted and LFG channel scrolling by so fast it was near unreadable. How anyone can think spamming LFG is a quality experience is laughable.

For the love of all that is good Blizz donā€™t listen to the forum trolls and walk back on 15 years of gameplay improvements.

While I enjoyed none of my brief revisit to Wotlk I did get the mount and now the game is uninstalled.

I respect your opinion, but I had to laugh at this. Wrath that the pinnacle/precipice of WoW. It was mostly down hill from there with the exception of MoP, and Legion (even though I HATE scaling).

That was absolutely as massively stupid implementation on their part. It doesnā€™t have to extend to raids, just dungeons. That is all most expected. and wanted.

Looking at your achieves, you were not even around back then. So thank you (sarcasm) for telling Blizz not to listen to the people that were and enjoy every moment of nostalgia.

Check again duckypoo. Now go away and stop trying to sit with the grownups.

Iā€™ve found this is mostly due to mob tagging, and if you are suggesting they remove shared mob tagging in retail I donā€™t think youā€™ll get much support lol.

Wrath was actually the expansion they gutted the leveling zones and turned almost all of the elite areas into non-elites.

Iā€™m leveling a fresh new wrath classic toon during the downtime and itā€™s crazy how less threatening the leveling world is than vanilla classic.

Oh look, you set your profile to private. Your earliest achievement was 2014. You make remarks about grown ups, but are most likely a child yourself. You lack the courage to keep your profile open and viewable after a call out. Congrats on your cowardice and lies.

why yā€™all donā€™t just download questie, rxp, zygor is baffling to me. it takes 15 seconds.

i canā€™t lie i am enjoying my sham way more in classic than retail some things should of just been left alone at times instead of removal and df brings nothing back that made shams way more fun to play back then. thereā€™s definitly enough addons out there to take all the frustration away from back in the day.
