Like seriously, so earlier I jumped into a Normal Nya’lotha PUG, the run went really smooth and it came time after Vexiona that the raid need to wipe to reset or something.
Everybody jumps except for one DK from Illidan, afk. A minute or two pass and the Raid Lead starts to get impatient, threatens to kick the guy, so I whisper him and ask him to jump.
A few more minutes pass and the lead gets fed up and boots this DK. The moment he gets the kick I get a TIRADE of 5-6 racist messages, telling me to off myself, etc, etc. And when I go to respond back, I’ve already been ignored, so the coward can dish it but not take it.
This is far from the first problem I’ve had with Illidan players, and it seems nearly ubiquitous from other threads i’ve seen that people from Illidan are the angriest people in the entire game.
So yeah, Illidan players. Who hurt you? What’s going on in your server that causes this?
It’s the mega raiding server in NA, so you have a lot of sweaty try hard rejects that aren’t cut out for the highest levels of play, that are prone to garbage conduct like this.
Certainly not everyone from illidan is like this, but that environment will attract a lot of that.
Tbh I never EVER take them in PUG groups now for any reason. Even if their Raider IO is great, even if they outgear the content by a country mile. Because I know that even one wipe and they’ll leave, spouting off some toxic tirade as they go.
Its the illidan pug world sadly. Most of us illidan players are in a guild and we run group content as such those who are not are the toxic ones no guild wants. We are sorry they exist but we don’t want to play with them so sadly they will be with you in the pug world
For some reason this is a common occurrence with unreasonable players, they must just ignore so many players that their ignore list is always maxed out.
We are a competitive raid and mplus server so those who want to do that content come to illidan. Those you encounter in pugs on illidan are those who didn’t make the cut for guild content because they are 1. Toxic as hell and nobody wants to play with them or 2. They just don’t have the skill cap to participate. So if you see someone from illidan trying to pug just know they fall into one of those 2 categories. But don’t take it as its our server’s mentality as a whole we have many great guilds
What do guilds and guild mentality or want to progress affect the pug world in any way? If a guild wants to be the next blood legion so be it, let them go for it. Using that an as excuse to be a douche in pugs because you didn’t make the cut says something about your personality
I see your point in how it affectd the pug world but don’t necessarily agree. I agree it creates a competitive dog eat dog mentality but if you rise to the occasion you get yourself a good guild and spot in group content then you participate with your guild and no longer pug. Those who didn’t make the cut are stuck in the pug world and are just very bitter and resentful but thats not our fault they couldn’t rise to the occasion
Illidan is one of (if not THE) largest population NA server, and it is an original Vanilla server. It has a storied reputation for hosting the world’s best raiding guilds at various points through the history of WoW, and for that reason…lots and Lots and LOTS of players make toons there so they can say they’re on Illidan.
Because the highest levels of play–especially Horde-side–are quite competitive, and because of the percentage of players that do mythic raiding content, and because of the server’s reputation…the culture on Illidan is what it is.
You have the actual good players, who spend most of their time in guilds and their own discord communities. Then you have everyone else, who is either a normal player minding his own business for the last 15 years on the same server…or a try-hard wannabe who acts hard because he made a character on Illidan specifically to copy the “best players on the best server.”
