I just want to go back and re-read allllllll those threads we have had over the years about this.
And then start taking bets.
Which features do we get?

Likely true on all points to the both of you! Still, from a distance, it feels like itād be the end of an era (and not the first, to be fair!); so many of us (relatively speaking) being openly IC in the cities is what gives that sense of RP servers being more creative and āaliveā for me, even if it isnāt always the perfect experience. Itās the WrA I fell in love with when I first started, and Iād be sad to see it get harder to find. Events are truly great, but I also like spontaneous RP that I donāt have to plan for in advance ā itās been wonderful for trying out new character concepts, meeting characters I otherwise might not have, or for those days I can only be on for an hour or two, you know?
Ah, well, Iām getting ahead of myself. Like you guys say, itās a net good on multiple fronts ā even if that means the culture shifts, we wonāt really know how until it happens. Iāll try to stay optimistic and keep an open mind 'till then; thanks for responding!
Okay, I saw it. I am reserving my right to give into the hype. Iāve been burned too many times.
Just donāt let it be Garrisons 2.0
I am hoping for the best but prepping for the worst. If housing is done ārightā the benefits will far outweigh the negatives.
People also thought Garrisons would be the end of walk-up RP, but WoD was, as far as Iām concerned, kind of the golden age for WrA-Allianceās walk-up scene.
Roleplayers who enjoy public walk-up RP will continue to do so, and those that donāt already arenāt engaging in it so Iām not sure playing housing will make much of a difference there.
But anyway WOO PLAYER HOUSING!! Wish it hadnāt taken 20 years, but Iāll take it.
Thatās the cool thing for me right about being guildless. Thereās no pressure of trying to come up with stories for people or tow a guild line. Kina can just be the mildly chaotic beastie that I wanted.
I do worry about free range RP with the introduction of houses. I think it can add something, but it is also going to take something way - it just remains to be see how much.
Iām trying to be positive. Iād love some early reveals though, so we could tell them yaaaas or eww.
The video looked nice, though. Iām betting itās going to be earning assets from raids and pvp for some of the decor like we had in Garrisons. That mug makes me wonder if thereāll be new emotes coming. Will we be able to carry a drink? Set it down?
I just want the housing to be able to host people. Enough people. For an RP. You know, like 40ish people? Full raid.
Cautiously hopeful here. However, my dream of having a proper hermitās residence is one step closer to being realized.
there should be expensive houses in stormwind and then people with the expensive houses in stormwind complain about people without houses are hanging outside their house and have a council to have the guards attack them and flag them for pvp. we will call this new district seawind (seattle+stormwind)
Iām sure most of the stuff on offer will be fairly basic, and I doubt weāll ever get anything as complex as Wildstarās player housing, but I would LOVE to one day have a big weird wizard palace to have big weird wizard parties in.
LFM for One Night in Karazhan RP.
Iām going to hold my judgment for the feature until we see more details, but being able to create my tavern in a customizable space would be really, really nice.
NIMBY vs. YIMBY is a faction war plot I could get truly passionate about
Next expansion after the world soul saga.
World of Warcraft: Class Warfare
I honestly cannot reiterate enough how much I loved housing in Wildstar.
I spent over a year building up lots for my characters. Not just houses but full environments.
On one lot I had a junkyard, with shipping container storage, a bar, a space port with ships you could enter, a shooting range and bar, an arcade, a custom built home made from storage containers that also served as a mechanic garage and weapon repair shop, a medical clinicā¦ and a hidden entrance to an underground smuggling and black market den and bar (this character really liked his booze). All custom made from various assets in the game.
I. Want. This. In. WoW!
In SWTOR we would set up our housing bases for everything from meetings to safe houses to spots to RP fighting off incoming attacks. Other people set up space ports, ruins with artifacts, vacation resorts, hospitals, a prisonā¦it was impressive.
Everyoneās excited for player Housing in WoWā¦me now very excited for next payday when I can get the WarCraft Remastered Battle Chest.
āYouāre as beautiful as the day I lost you.ā
My boyfriend just got finished telling me about all the stuff you could do in Wildstar housing. Like scaling items? That alone would be pretty sweet! I suppose Iām kinda glad I never got the chance to play that game, because otherwise Iād be chasing a housing unicorn for the rest of my life.
I have been since the game went offline. I am not kidding.
You could dye the color (which was more like tinting, but still useful), scale up and down to extreme sizes, rotate, and place freely in 360 x,y,z axis, then place items inside other items to make custom built creations. There was practically no limit beyond your creativity and imagination.
You can do scaling in Conan Exiles with mods. In CE, you can do everything but terra forming.
Thatās all I can think of off the top of my head. But itās super great for building. The modding community there is superb.
Yaāll act like they gonna do right by you?
WRA, I thought you were more smarter.
