Do you have pointy sticks and marshmallows?
I think them adding Final Fantasy style neighborhoods is far fetched, and awful.
Would much rather have ESO style housing where there are just locations all over the map, that EVERYONE can own. (you could own all of them if you have the gold/cash.)
Like the Farm in Four Winds, or Garrison, phased to you once you go inside.
Could have a door on a facade of a house, you click on to enter. Or whatever the location might be for you to own. Doesnt have to just be houses, could be all sorts of things.
I think you vastly underestimate the amount of cushions I need to get a decent nightās sleep.
In all seriousness, I am hankering to see if we can really go to town designing our player housings, if thereās more than just Human or Orc structures, etc etc.
At a reply count over 200 Iām compelled to ask if anyone has addressed the fact that the homes themselves and their customization will probably be largely governed by our new, improved and 90% more predatory cash store?
I think it will be a mixture of both, which of course is bound to piss off people.
If anyone thinks this will entirely be in the game, they are kidding themselves. This is a big chance for Blizz to make some money. Look what happened with the cash shop Bruto? People borked out at the $90 tag but that thing is everywhere. I am so curious how much Blizz made off it.
Now, I am not entirely opposed to purchasing things with some cash, but Iād probably be fairly restrained about what Iād be interested in purchasing.
Back to the idea of housingā¦
I want a blank slate that I can literally build on. Build. Not just plop down House Style #23. Let me have a different style wall than floor and a different style roof. Maybe I want to live in a cave? Can I create a cave house?
Also, Iāve said before Iām not a fan of pretty-shiny things. So, I hope thereās some worn/faded/beat-up / weathered options.
If everything looks like I just purchased it from IKEA, I will definitely be using a sleeping bag instead and if you guys come to my homestead, it will look like an encampment.
i think the shop is gonna have furniture/decor from other games like Diablo
Every faction we can gain rep with should be included in game
While Iād like to see complete terraforming with a sandbox where I can harvest stone or cloth or whatever, then use that to create building parts for my own structure, Iām not sure how many people would be down for that.
I could see it working out if housing was treated more like a mini-game, so it was instanced and we could make some version of WoW-Minecraft. But I guarantee thatās not what weāre getting.
I donāt think were gunna get WoW Minecraft like digging and building up actual terrain, but I could see Blizz giving us decore pieces to make hills, rocks, water features, and so on.
I mean itās still optimistic, but they could. Of course they could do anything. But realisticallyā¦ probably not.
Ever built in ESO? You get all you described, structure pieces, etc.
Even NPCs you can path around.
I hope HOPE wow takes a lot of notes from them housing wise.
I havenāt played in a few years. Iāve heard real good things about ESO housing updates since I last played. If itās as good as people keep telling me than I am all for it. My standard comparison is always Wildstar (which also had the things I mentioned), but yeah. I really want everyone to be able to get the things they want and I feel like Wildstar has everything that is needed to please the most people. Canāt please everyone, but it could come close.
As long as we can place things however we like Iām good.
And not āhereās a spot for a table, here are five table optionsā
Word. I want to be able to freely place everything.
My standard for comparison is modded Conan Exiles, that gives you crafting tables (or a hammer now) to make building pieces and items, and the ability to place things wherever you want. The things do not snap in place, so you can nudge them over if you want to. And flip, resize and recolor. And add outdoor foliage, water features and rocks/boulders.
And thatās not even mentioning building out in the water to make ships, building up trees to make treehouses, building into caves or building off-map.
(And I 100% do not think weāre getting that.)
So I visited Highmountain with an alt last night. I forgot how relaxing it was up there. I wonder if the Highmountain Tauren would notice a dwarf living in their wilderness?
This is what I mean. If I get the āfive table optionsā for space #23, I will be angry.
Thus back to my #1 request - communication.
tell us what youāre doing.
tell us what weāre getting.
Doesnāt have to be full disclosure but decent and professional communication as we push into this is a must.
Otherwise, when we get ātable #1ā and a whole lot of people arenāt happy because they expected something else, they will have trashed the goodwill for many peopleā¦permanently.
COMMUNICATE WITH THE PLAYERBASE
And it canāt just be āhereās the Alliance tableā and āhereās the Horde (Orc) table.ā
If I donāt get my Forsaken table, Iām gonna riot.
Thatās right! If I donāt get my nelf veal cutlets rare, I am going to demand to speak to the manager!
Were you around when Tirisfal Butchers did their butcher shop sales event? I think it was in Arathi and they were selling different types of cutlets and other things that were āAllianceā sourced.
I kept trying to troll Silveko by asking him about his meat. Could not get him to break character, but I sure tried.
Nice, my DK also once hosted a dinner party and served ambiguously sourced meats.
And this is why Kina doesnāt eat other peopleās cookingā¦
In terms of furnishings, if I wish to have a Sinādorei styled cushion for the log, I should be able to. I want an eclectic interior design for my yurt. And closet spaceā¦ lots of closet space.
