Player housing

Just curious how you folks would like to see player housing done if it ever does get done.

Me I would like it to be a mix between garrisons and class hall. As in NPC coming to visit would be shamans or elemental lords stopping to chat maybe giving a daily quest.

Also add furniture to crafting profs for decoration and trophy purposes.

Make it future proof so you can always add change things as new xpacs come out don’t just use for one xpac and abandon it.

Garrisons.

The dev team had to sacrifice a raid tier in WoD for Garrisons. Imagine player housing?

I’d love having my own dragon roost for my Dracthyr but the time constraints on the devs makes that unlikely :dracthyr_cry_animated:

Were not player housing…

No!

I know a lot of people want it and nothing wrong with that. I just would rather have them use the resources elsewhere for other things. Maybe one day they will put it into the game.

If they ever do it, I’d like to see crafting professions carry the lion’s share of the work for populating them with cosmetics. Like, go back and sprinkle a few cosmetics in old raids or reputations and whatnot, but make it mostly about crafting.

honestly garrisons was player housing and people cried over it… so yea… lets keep beating a dead horse over a topic that the community could care less for.

No it wasn’t.

If the community (like you could ever claim that it shares one opinion) didn’t care then why would the dead horse keep coming up?

I’d be happy with the type of player housing that is available in EQ1

Find any locale you want.

It’s phased to you. And then think of Fallout 4 Sanctuary. Go in the world chopping trees and gathering nodes, etc

Give us a plot of land with prefab empty buildings that we can decorate.

Let some decorations be NPCs a la SWTOR.

prove to me how it wasn’t?.. you had your rss plots, you could choose your own buildings, you had your monuments you could have chased after. It was just on a small scale in terms of customization but it was exactly what you were wanting. no one cares for a different bed… no one cares for a different door… it’s a dead horse a select FEW want… not the community because it will be just chore to deal with

No.

Okay, clearly you don’t care about the topic.

Bye! :wave:t4:

Like Old Republic: instanced, different zones to choose from for themed buildings, hooks for decoration placement, the ability to get decos from literally every form of content, the ability to make them public or private.

Hell yeah Sendryn. Player housing is one thing SWTOR does quite well! I’d like a bit more flexibility but it’s really quite a solid system.

If you think Garrisons were player housing then you have no clue what actual player housing. :man_facepalming:

Harrisons were more like going to work at an office,

thats because you can’t

i care about the topic because i don’t want it in the game. i don’t want to be forced to deal with something that will die again after 1 expansion

Garrisons aren’t player housing. Also on a completely different planet and in a different timeline, so zero relevance to current WoW.

I think they’ve gotten aspects of it. We had the little farms in MoP, we had Garrisons, we had Order Halls, and I think those offer some spots of light.

If I could design it myself, I’d add houses like ESO, where there are different options in each zone based on that areas races, so like Elwyn Forest might have a little human style farm, maybe a stone tower, maybe a little castle or something, Darkshore would be NE themed, etc.

Each home, depending on size, would have interior space and outside space. We’d be able to set up some crafting areas and change what grows, so if I wanted to create a farm of Pandaria herbs I could. And like garrisons maybe we could place buildings like a stable to show off a couple mounts, maybe a workshop for the crafting, etc.

I also think it could add a TON of content for crafters. Imagine if they added expansion-themed crafting and you could get patterns/recipes by doing content in those expansions, maybe rare ones in Timewalking, things like that. And all crafting could have plenty to do. It could create a booming market for work orders to request crafters make Outland style tables or something. They could also maybe add woodcutting/woodworking as a new profession that can make bows, cross bows, staves and wands and shields, (and maybe a canoe mount!?) as well as tables and other wood furniture. I think the boom to crafting for years to come would be well worth a raid tier in one xpansion tbh.

Then we could also get ESO-like trophies for killing dungeon/raid bosses. Maybe bronze busts or statues for normal, silver for heroic, gold for mythic, etc.

I feel like they have all the technology there with instancing, phasing, scenarios, etc. And a lot of the models already in the game.

They could add crafting tables, and maybe somehow offer bankers/mailbox/auctioneers as well either as rare drops or as achievement rewards or something. But honestly, housing is a huge boon to games like ESO where some people only do dungeons/trials/etc to get furnishings for their homes. They do crafting just to make furniture. I think it could be a great influx of content and get more people to get out and do more content, making old zones and stuff relevant again in ways Timewalking hasn’t even done.
