Player Housing: WoW vs FF14

A lot of Devs like the housing idea, that can even work for cosmetics on the shop = more revenue…etc

IMO, the problem is the engine that’s really old and maybe causes a lot of bugs for items movement, change color…etc all the things related to a housing system.

And this will continue because Shadowlands created a big gap of content and now players try another games in the marked and then comeback here with new ideas.

Maybe, I see it more as appeasement. Tell the players screaming the loudest that they hear you without actually committing. They do it with a lot of things in this game. It’s standard practice, mostly in retail environments, but it works here just as well.

Who knows, maybe one day they will add it. I’ll never use it and as long as it doesn’t take away from end game content (dungeons/m+) I don’t care if they add it or not.

Player housing is an enormous waste in resources for a very minimal gain.

because no one at blizzard has the balls to break y’all lil uwu hearts and say no… but i would.

And this will forever be the problem with WoW. So long as people continue viewing content as a statistic rather than for the enjoyment of the game, it will continue to dwindle and become irrelevant while other games take its place.

because honestly as a ff14 vet (played since realm of reborn came out) they have been lazy around the housing designs, people complaiing about it since it basicly came out.

a world has around 2million+ ppl in it yet there is only around 2k plots per world +3k apartments so most people in final fantasy don’t even have a house.

Most of the time they release content you can replay old content as much as you want. For example “fight wise” I can refight and get nice glamors from anything in the game in ff14. I can even decress my ilvl to make it challanging. So once content is added into ff14 its NEVER REMOVED. “this is wows biggest issue in my opinoin they remove to much content when its outdated instend of making it fully playable”

Next crafting: is just enjoyable in ff14 as is gathering, I have never enjoyed either of those until ff14.

also they tie togeather every piece of content, you can get furinture drops from dungeons/raids/ etc and you can craft it putting a system togeather that self substains one another content wise

Player housing would not only require an enormous investment in development resources, it would also demand that the system be maintained forever. You would have to create new player housing content every patch in order to keep the system from being abandoned.

I would rather they work on improving existing systems rather than adding an entirely unnecessary system that would only contribute to the world feeling less populated.

Also Japanese companys are honestly superior to USA ones in everything instrument design, tv entertainment, games pcs etc

I wonder what it would take to move WoW to a new game engine? And if that is something Blizzard would even do.

and blizzard gave it to us in the form of garrisons. anything less or more would not be wow. garrisons were tied to everything. dungeons, raids, pvp… everything. if they were to create a form of player housing that just allows for people to decorate and customize to their liking without adding anything in the form of player progression in the core of wow’s systems then it will be a complete and utter failure.

i am not here to troll. i am sorry if people feel that way when someone disagrees with them. but so far all i have ever seen what “we want player housing” and then the suggestions that came for that were absurd. not wow. and just totally off track.

dont get it twisted and angry when someone sees an idea such as player housing to be bad when you think its good. i am just stating my opinion and the feedback i got from many people i discussed this about in game.

you wanna take over the edge then do this player housing. its not wow and never will be wow. and as i said unless every core aspect of wow is tied to it, it will be nothing more than a massive failure.

My heart to be here on the forums the exact second if Blizzard decided to add limited available housing. The rage posting that follows would generate enough energy to power a major city.

With WoW’s numbers steadily decreasing, they aren’t going to increase the dev numbers.

Additionally, WoW has focused their game to eSports elements and hope to capitalize on the additional revenue of viewers who tune in to watch such things. They don’t stand to make money showing off other people’s houses. I imagine that it will just take some bean counter to realize how much money there could be in selling cosmetic housing items on the cash shop.

eh garrassions is no way like player housing. Its a base of operation more like you would get in warframe or other stratagy games. It doesn’t even let you design the buildings as your races theme that alone makes it no were near player housing

I have the house of the FC and my internal apartment, and I am quite happy, eventually we will see if I am able or not to get a house of my own, time will tell. :man_shrugging:

Thats the problem getting and keeping is horrible. Everyone should be able to have one. If there is going to be housing there shouldnt be see garbage cap on how many can have them.
That is ehy it is horrible.

I feel like I don’t particularly want either of them. They seem to try to come out with new systems for each expansion, which I also don’t feel that I want.

I just want new content, new gear, but not entirely new gearing, and personally, I don’t think I want player housing; I wasn’t a big fan of garrisons during WoD, and am not sure what would be better about housing.

and yet their glamour system is hot garbage
