You’re just obsessing over my wants for this housing bit… welcome to the internet where people want different things and have minds of their own, who’d of thunk it?
But you won’t have to worry, blizzard is a bunch of cowards and I’ll never get fun PVPRP content, so you’ll get to play house with your friends and I won’t be anywhere near housing.
You should be more specific about how housing could have a PvP aspect. The OP is very specific about how they would use it for RP. Just saying “I want PvP” isn’t enough for the devs to go on.

I want to be able to rob or invade other players while they’re online and away or vice-a-versa, no serious item theft or anything but like your house stuff… maybe add guards and what not, to me that sounds like fun… I think the RP is this game is droll and think it needs some spicing up and not the sexual kind… which I’m sure that will be what 90% of housing will be.
Home invasion? The home owners would have to be flagged though, right? Or do you envision invading any home no matter which faction?
I personally think it should be any home at any time as long as they are online… but I know forced PVP is frowned upon and why blizzard sadly got rid of PVP servers. So yea, you probably need people to opt into it… I also believe once in it, you should have sell the home to opt out and start fresh.
They could add guards, alert systems, traps, stuff like that so they could potentially kill the intruding player… and maybe even like 15 to 30-minute imprisonments if you catch and beat them, requiring a cage purchase and what not.
This sounds kinda cool.
Full disclaimer: I personally hate PvP, but I think players who enjoy it should have options like this. I don’t know what Blizzard’s intentions for housing are, but as long as it’s optional, a PvP aspect shouldn’t hurt anything. Plus, it would prevent flagged players from escaping attack just by ducking into their house.

while all the role players are making requests for player housing, can you all please ask blizzard not to add any achievements, mounts, pets, toys, cosmetics or titles to it.
the rest of us are achievement point harvesters, mount, pet, toy, cosmetic and title collectors and have no use for role playing house and we do not want to interact with that sort of gameplay. so please put that in your request for the rest of us please and thank you.
