While I would be using housing for a more traditional utility as a private estate, I’ll add my support to this idea.

I’m just gonna lie on my Player Housing Application and say I never been evicted and my Ilvl is 636, and I have Invincible but just cant see it.

As long as you have the option to make it public or private, I support the idea.
Housing cannot be an isolated ecosystem, else, whats the point?

Even if not for RP, people will want to show off what they do with their houses and even more if they have funitures tied to accomplishments .

As for me? I just want my little curio shop. Let me sell you RP hooks and plot, gods dammit!

It would be nice to have a catalog of “public” houses to view. My fear though is that we would have to sacrifice any chance of flexible / free building. The WoW community can’t really be trusted not to make extremely inappropriate housing builds, and I doubt MicroBlizz wants that kind of liability / publicity.

Public Player house would be immensly helpful!!

It would be nice to be able to have a little shopfront with some example wares and hang a shingle that would let passers-by passively discover that a crafter exists.

Alas, the question is how to have it be publicly visible that people could stumble upon yet not have an endless metropolis of suburbs.

Bumping this and put me down to sign on the thread as well. Would also be nice to be able to choose or see the player house, like role playing a Duke and being able to walk into the estate small castle, or the large ducal castle at thier holding outside the city. I Shadoworgen, Duke Cornileas Shadowpaw Kingdom of Gilneas put my support to sign.

Fully support this!! Been RPing on WoW for a few years now, and even longer outside of WoW. This would be amazing to have

Co-signed in wholehearted agreement.

HARD disagree. While I don’t specifically object to having open, public or searchable player-created spaces beyond that this is clearly not what the 1.0 iteration of player housing is for, I worry about people trying to turn it into that may throw a wrench into the works that will curl a finger down on the monkey’s paw. Individual player housing is something that people have wanted for a long time now.

As long as it’s not connected to major game systems and too many amenities then people will come out, but the kind of people who just want to idle in Trade Chat and hit up their auctions aren’t really the roleplayers that you see in cities anyway. Garrisons damaged visible world populations on non-RP servers, for the most part, because roleplayers still have reasons to come out and see people.

My other worry about all of this is that people are spinning up a lot of wishlists about a feature that we have almost no details about now. When it inevitably comes out and isn’t exactly what every individual person was campaigning for, I think there’s going to be quite a sour rabble about it with accusations that Blizzard isn’t “listening” because they didn’t jump on a complete redesign of the feature based on the pressure to turn it into something other than what they intended.

I completely agree
houses should be available to go look at if the player wants to show them off and should allow as many players as mechanically as possible.

As someone who is a long time fan of LoTRO neighborhoods, I totally support this and hope Blizzard takes a page from their book in this regard.

The trick or treating quests in the neighborhoods has been great there. And while I don’t see that specific kind of thing for WoW, the idea of showing off to the neighbors and neighbors getting together is a great thing.

Made some friends with people who I didn’t know thanks to that.

Blizzard: So happy you like your enhanced Garrison. We’ll continue to listen to all feedback as we chart our next exciting step in the player housing journey.

My understanding of the interviews that have been done about it is that the devs have left the tease vague in order to collect wishlists and adjust their plans where needed/possible.

So I think it’s good to allow outselves a window to dream big, but keep actual expectations low.

That is exactly what I was thinking about, how would us Role-players gain access to each others homes especially when the player housing sounds more what garrisons were about. But if we could group finder type of thing find other Players and see randoms that put themselves open, I could see ALOT of potential with that across the entire roleplaying part of the game. Thank you, for bringing this to Blizzards attention!

Trappin out the house with the boards on the windows
