Always good to have polls.
Iâll vote for this. It would be easy I think if Bliz where to combine the farm, garrison, shipyards to one big hall or something like the hunters lodge for each player.
Wish I could up vote your alts being idle in the house more!
Interesting. Iâve always thought carpentry would be the obvious new profession since none of the current ones really go with woodworking. The stone stuff I would have just given to blacksmiths. But I do like the idea of masons. I would suggest 2 new professions separating woodworking from stone working though.
Just a reminder, if anyone would like to participate tomorrow I post the results of the poll. A sincere thank you to everyone who has come in with their perspectives for and against housing!
WoW has a pretty high bar to reach for player housing. SWTOR has gone as far as to allow players to not only have customizable housing with decorations you can craft, purchase, and loot in dungeons/raids but also allowed players to have a PvP arena style house were they can not only build the arena but spectator stands as well. I honestly donât see Blizzard doing anything like this in WoW at this point in the games life since they got expansions basically following one large template started with WoD.
I honestly donât care about player housing too much. If it was something they could do easily but itâs going to take resources. And Iâd rather they focus on the aspects of gameplay.
giving horde ogres and sanâlayn and giving alliance high or half elves and something like ethereals, would also breathe life into the game. but i agree player housing and maybe a guild house
Nice poll however I believe some details were sort of left out. Specifically in regards to the housing plot.
I believe it should be like the ESO style of housing. You buy a plot of land out of Many options across the world. These plots already come with the base house. Depending on the plot it may just be an interior you load into or it may have a sizable amount of land for you to customize as well in addition to be able to phase into it in the open world without loading.
Unlike ESO I would limit the amount of properties you can own on a single character. The reason being is that housing would provide more benefits to places for various reasons to the point owning 20-30 different ones on a toon would be detrimental to the health of the game even if the player themself doesnât care.
Also like ESO I would implement an introduction quest to the housing system placed in the Inn of the first town hub you go to such as goldshire, bloodhoof village, ect.
It would just be a free Inn room that you load into by walking into/using the door.
Various properties would be spread around the world ranging from interior only housing in the major cities to full estates and castles across the world.
Ty for doing this, Serefim. It was fun.
Because housing is FUN? Is that NOT allowed in the game anymore? Housing is like an extreme version of cosmetic rewards.
- It would keep a lot of us that USED to log in and do nothing for hours, come in and do something they find fun for hours. Please note: I donât play the Sims for maybe longer than a day or two normally and this is like once a year.
Wildstar housing had me logging into that game for hours. Doing nothing but playing with the house and creating my own piece of the world. At one point: I had a tree house.
Isnât Bliz basing their players on time played these days? Does it matter what we do in game for fun as long as weâre playing for hours and arenât exploiting things?
They could do it in ways that would still make us have to go outside our houses.

We- as citizens (and SAVIORS) of Azeroth deserve to have our little piece of space. How many times do we gotta save the world?

We have Bejeweled in game now. You have no argument.
On a side note: I swear some of yâall just disagree to disagree.
I want player housing to be a fun feature. Not something half baked.
I want to customize the house to add my own furniture to where I want it. Can add furniture types to be some rare of off boss drops.
Also different house types like hut all the way to mansion. Ether way if done right it can be fun. And besides donât we deserve to have a real home? Do we have to live in a inn AKA Hotel/Motel forever?
Player housing can be fun in roleplay servers and in roleplay. Gives each player a place to call home. Those that want to remain homeless donât have to purchase a house.
A piece of property can be instanced and personaly like Garrisons where you can invite people in AKA friends.
So I ask why not add player housing?
I just want to be able to sell a house if I happen to get one. Idk how theyâre going to do this, but any housing stuff, including the house itself I would like to be able to list on the AH.
I also want to be able to burn other peopleâs houses down. I guess that falls under warmode.
I think if they add player housing, it should be a game within the game and carry onward through expacs.
Can start small and grow from there. If done right it would be a lot of subs for Blizzard.
Donât instance the player housing if you put it in, Blizzard. Thatâll kill the whole thing.
Make it available for pvp too.
You have to instance it, or some wonât be able to use it.
I wouldnât say the house itself to be sellable on the AH but decorations definitely. I believe you should be able to sell properties at a capital real estate office which would be the same place you buy any property. Selling it would give you some gold seeing as these should definitely be expensive things. It would suck you have to axe a property and get nothing out of it because you can finally afford to buy the big mansion but you donât have enough house slots.
I think the way Iâd do it is to have an in-between with instanced neighborhood areas attached to various zones around the world. At these areas would start off with just a small clearing in a vast forest/plains/desert/etc (which you canât actually to the boundaries of, kind of like the argus legion portal areas) and when it fills up, paths open to other clearings on the map to make room for more houses.
To me the ârealnessâ of the housing is a big factor. If everyone has the same instanced house, it starts running into the same problem that garrisons had.
This isnt a democracy. Did you seriously just male a âpollâ for this?.
Garrisons are bar none the BEST feature other than transmogs that Blizz ever rolled out . I wish they would expand upon the concept. I interact with the world just as much as ever and I need a space that is all mine that I can customize, Ive never liked sharing things whether it be bedrooms, dorm rooms, apts, horses or boyfriends
