Player housing is a waste of time and development resources

You approach it as an either/or. They can continue to add basic content in addition to housing ya know.

Reading this whole post was a bigger waste of time. Go back to one of the other threads talking about this same problem.

The AFK argument is so weak its foundation is already missing.
People afk in SW an Valdrakken all damn day or outside of Org/Sw an Goldshire for the pvpers. So whats the difference?? You get to see them afk? Weird hill to die on when ur hill is already eroded under u.

Well since they never fix their bugs an keep pumping useless updates with more bugs in them.
I will take housing all day.

But example of a bug that has been around FOREVER that wont get fixed. The aggro bug when I fight one mob an kill it but stay permanently in combat despite being 80+ yrds away. Im sure this 20 yr old bug would be fixed if I gave them more time to develop a fix instead of housing.

You clearly haven’t played an MMO with good housing then.

For example, going all the way back to Asheron’s Call (late 90s) - this game had not only player housing (of 3 different kinds), it also had allegiance housing.

AC nailed the player/allegiance housing to a tee 25 years ago, WoW should have developed such system at launch, or at the very least TBC era.

They haven’t spent an iota of resources or development time on player housing this entire time yet the game is still a mess, so that’s a poor argument, fren.

I’d take housing.

Should they stop making ANYTHING new until what they’ve already done runs perfectly? There are bugs in this game that are old enough to drive at this point.

Garrisons made the world seem empty, so i believe the housing should be different than a typical instance.

For example, put some houses around cities. Anyone can walk up the sidewalk, but when you actually click the door to open it, it either has your house set up, or a generic one you cant modify. The generic one is open to public. You would need to choose where you want your house out of like 20 different options. If in a party, you all go into party leaders house. Some larger than others for a guild mansion. There should be no port stone to your house. Sorry, just choose a major city with guild capen port if you want or dalaren. There should be one in dalaren and wherever there are a port hubs.

If they’ve been around for years, they aren’t ever getting fixed. And it’s not even the same departments that handle that stuff. Might as well have something I want instead.

In Ever Quest 2, what they did was put apartments inside the main cities that charged various upkeep prices per week. You would then click on the door to your apartment (1,2,3 room) inside the inn. They did have some townhomes (single, double, triple floor plans) in the city’s as well which had variable costs to maintain the housing per week.

They also developed castles (small, medium, and large guilds) on the outside of the cities for the guilds to have for members. Inside the castles you could have guild perks like teleports to various raids and the trophies of that’s guilds triumphs. As a carpenter on my main a barbarian berserker, I was contracted to build furniture for a lot for people’s apartments and castles. Was funny I was the third richest person in the game and my guild of just me was the 19th richest in the game before I left on my server.

yes this. I loved the garrison, and ashran, and the ashran boss was prolly my favorite after pvp boss to do. WoD questing was the best questing wow ever had, DF is now a close second, even though i prefered the WoD cinematic style. The story was great too, just not enough content.

There are many players who would love housing, make a house, collect things for your house, stuff to do outside of endgame gear grinding, and that importantly has player retention.

The more resources spent to ensure all players have adequate content to do, the better.

The playbase that would interact with it more than 2-3x is probably a TINY fraction of those that do PvP/M+/raid currently. And that is the vast majority of players in this game. Seems to me like the investment probably isn’t worth the reward for blizz.

That sounds awesome

they could revamp and expand upon garrisons

All my alts and myself stay in the garrison when not doing df stuff.

There is already an outhouse out back.
