Player couldn't see a quest from Locus Walker in Dornogal

I was trying to help a player who wanted to start up the current patch but when I took them to talk to Locus Walker, they had no option to get a quest.

I did the usual check:

  • was level 80
  • had completed enough questing (obviously) to open Dornogal
  • did not have the quest in their journal
  • in case they’d forgotten they’d done it, I checked and the portal was not there for them.

They hadn’t done a Delve and I also suggested they clean our their quest journal in case there was anything there causing a phasing issue. I also said to maybe do a Delve and see if that helped.

Can anyone think of any other reason that a player couldn’t get the starter quest from Locus Walker for the first time?

I think there is a quest that unlocks the later campaigns if you already did the mail campaign, check with Brann, it shows up when you either log in to Dorngal or restart your UI. I hope I am right.

Unfortunately it’s also a known issue at the moment. I imagine they are working to get the quest going as soon as possible since it starts the new content, but the support site article is all I’ve really seen about it.

Eh… not exactly. We have received multiple reports and looking into those reports but I wouldn’t say it is considered a known issue. Known issues tend to be those that we can confirm and I don’t think we’re there on this one.

There shouldn’t be any requirements other than being 80 as far as I know.

One thing to check is to make sure they are not currently on the Lorewalking quests. They will usually have the Lorewalking interface on the right side of the screen.

Having the character/realm would help to take a peek, but probably not needed here unless that’s not the issue. Then I might be able to take a look.

Ahh, there was a support article about it so I assumed that meant known. Guess just more of a “on the radar and watching” sort of things then?

Good to know for future reference!

Exactly. We’re trying to be a little more proactive in communicating possible issues that we’re seeing ,especially right after a patch launch. So a lot of potential issues that we’re getting a lot of contacts about may have a Support Article created to let folks know that we are looking into those reports.

Those should hopefully be updated later on if the issue is verified and becomes “known”. A lot of those in the early days of a patch tend to be confusion on how something works/is supposed to work, which may still have a developmental solution to help limit that confusion.

I probably should have suggested the player themselves come here and basically do what I did - detail the situation and ask for help. It was in Newcomer Chat and some new players are a bit shy of posting here since they aren’t familiar with it. But I will if I see anyone in NC having the same problem.
