Yeah idk why people complain honestly, Alt gearing is faster than ever and locks are in a great space. I got my 180 aff lock to 1.8k with my buddy pretty fast, which is why I never understand the whole “Gear disparity” argument or w/e.

Aff is pretty ridiculous in 2s. They do so much damage. And they’re good in 3s, at least as shadowplay. That comp is actually so unfun to fight against, esp as a waddling melee or a healer. UA and mind games synergy is nuts.
They’re definitely slept on and will only get better as the xpac goes on.

Just because I played with a higher iLevel friend doesn’t make it a carry? I still had to learn how to kite properly, and I watched a ton of Chanimal videos and got better at my lock gameplay. I even survived a lot of matches and helped cross CC and set up kills, not everyone is boosted ya know? Some of us value skill in this game still.

Given the influence that gear/ilvl has on gameplay currently yes, that does make it a carry.

Regardless of iLevel, I survived over 90% of my matches as a 180 lock against people much higher iLevel than me and helped my friend a lot in scoring wins.
You can make up all the excuses you want, but “gear disparity” and “boosters” are just another FoTM issue 
I didn’t miss it, at 180 you don’t put out enough damage to force CDs or oom a healer to score a kill. The fact that you were successful hinged on having a higher geared partner to pump while you landed your CC and kited. You could be the best warlock to ever log into the game, but without that extra pressure your win rate would be drastically lower.

2s is a team game, doesn’t matter who gets the kills as long as kills happen. I helped CC targets, I rotted away at them and kept them occupied so my teammate can do his thing. How am I carried for helping my partner score kills? That’s the whole point of team based PvP lol.
Because you are 180 ilvl. You didn’t do any meaningful rot damage at that level unless you’re against a tragically undergeared/underskilled healer. You’re right, it’s a team game, but are you really trying to say that you are pulling the same weight as a 220+ geared toon? Is your partner that bad?
I’m not saying you’re bad for it, I’ve been the carry and the one doing the carrying myself plenty of times. But you can at least acknowledge when that is the case, and not act like 180 ilvl is the golden ticket to 1800.
