From when I started in earnest in WotLK until the end of Cata, as well as presumably anytime prior to that, people roleplaying as dragons was always seen as a kind of taboo thing in the same vein as Pregnant Death Knights. Don’t know if it’s just my server or if that was a general sentiment among roleplayers.
However, after Cata ended and the Aspects and therefore the Dragonflights lost a ton of their power, people seemed a lot more open to the idea of people roleplaying Dragons.
I’m not saying roleplayers dictate what’s allowed, just saying that if they were to add a dragon class or race (maybe both in one?), I don’t think many people at this point would be annoyed by it.

A class based on players blessed by aspects is possible, if the devs are willing. I doubt they will ever have.
A dragon race that is playable? Everyone wants but it will end up being just in the horde and ally will receive another race of blood elf extracted from the thin and exotic color (maybe orange), a race of humans with elephant ears or a new type of gnome that adds nothing .

As I said, we need devs to do so and frankly, BfA is not indicative of any goodwill towards the players or interest in how each decision can save or ruin the factions.
Lore disappeared from this game when the devs started with retcons to justify anything that would make their lives easier.
At this point, devs just didn’t invent a titan gnome because it needs to be able to cause cringe at the proper level.

How about the Drakonid? They could be developed playable with the Tauren skeleton and it would push Wrathion and Ebonhorn closer to the factions.

At most shared heroic classes.
Blizzard doesn’t seem to know what to do with whrathion the ebonhorn, more than it knows how to make factions something of value after bfa.
Wouldn’t your Dragon be a race we already have but when you mount you can turn into your dragon form.
