Playable Centaurs Incoming (Maybe)

real half-troll/half-elves would have fur, larger tusks and claws ngl

Would not be.

It’s possible.

Blizzard just needs to open its mind a little (and some players too).

First solution: Travel forms.

The lore would be Cenarius getting their help in some way, then providing the clan present there with a buff called pegasus wings (like what happened to the high mountain taurens).

Pegasus wings : Outside of battle, when concentrating for 5 sec, the centaur will have wings that allow him to fly like a dragon (or something similar).

“Ha but then they wouldn’t use the normal mounts” - yeah so what?

As I said to Blizzard and players need to be open-minded about this.

Think of the customizations: 10 wings with different shapes to choose from. The player who wanted to use the centaurs would have to understand that the flight would simply be reduced to the centaur itself. And if they dropped any ground or flying mounts, it would be usable in other races on the account.

The ground mount follows the same style: out of battle when concentrating for 5 sec, the centaur would run at 100% speed and there would be a racial where he could take a player along, like druids do.

Second solution: Equipment.

Of course there would be a problem with the back equipment (capes), leggings and feet.

Either Blizzard uses the same drachthyr scheme and transforms these 3 slots into magic slots (dracthyr capes disappear in dragon form)…Or these 3 slots would exist but with another name, and would be filled with new dropable equipment for them , as:

shin guards;
Back shield (the horse part of the centaur);
Front shield (being the front part of the centaur, replacing the leggings)

there will be no old equipment but there would be new equipment in those slots.

I don’t think it’s such a problematic implementation.

I am pretty sure they set things up with all the rapid centaur development and then the ties to the Tauren and a new tauren village was so that when they drop Amirdrassil off the coast in the giant obvious world tree sized hole in the map they can still claim that the region is faction neutral. There isn’t a lot more to it than that.

That actually does make a lot of sense. Factionally, the Horde kind of dominates the Broken Isles because we have two Allied Races there, the Highmountain Tauren and the Shal’dorei, while the Alliance’s only claim there is the Druidic order in Valsharra, and that’s technically neutral, even if biased by being almost entirely Kaldorei-populated.

Northrend has the Taunka, to which the Horde is still aligned, while the Alliance has the Frostborne Dwarves, neither of which have mattered much in the game’s lore since the start of Cataclysm.

Pandaria remains defiantly independant and the I suspect Taran Zhu will beat the cheeks off of anyone who tries to change that.

At the same point, the Centaur of Kalimdor are tentatively aligned with the Horde, I’d love to see the Dragon Isles Centaur travel to meet them and help the meta-tribe formed from the remains of the previous ones in Desolace find more stability and unity, and possibly a cultural identity divorced from slavery, cruelty and xenophobia with the blessing of the Wind Mother to balance the influence of the Elemental Princess that birthed them.
