Enjoying something and following them around like a sycophant are 2 different things. Though im sure you understand this and i didnt need to explain it to you
As someone who has played on RPPVP realms for a majority of WoW:
Non-RPers are welcome. We only ask that you respect the naming rules and be respectful to those who actively Roleplay.
Feel free to join in, dip your toes in the water. Heck, you might even like it, and many, if not all, love newcomers and would be more than willing to help you get your RP wings.
FWIW, that happened in Illidan back in vanilla and it remains one of the more notorious events in the history of WoW to this day. The guild in question fraps’d their deed and uploaded for posterity:
No, they are most definitely not welcome. We’ve seen how non-RPers have watered down our realms to the point that many RPers fled to RP-PvE realms.
Ironically, those trying to flee streamers and locating on an RP realm will be viewed as outsiders. Many RP guilds won’t be including outsiders in their activities.
It’s silly for these people to join a server where they will be ostracized by many guilds. The better answer for OP and people like him is to see which server the streamers play on and simply pick a different PvP server.
While I agree, they should pick a PvP server. For those who are not fleeing streamers, many are attracted to the immersion and mature community. To those just co-existing on the server, I have never seen them take away from the server or water down RP.
The only case where this would become a problem would be if we ran out of space. Which will be interesting to see that result since we’ve been living with CRZ for so long.
With there being 5 PVP servers it may not be that easy to avoid streamers. Especially when 2 of them are already being talked about as Brazilians picking one server and the spanish-speaking Latin/South American players picking A DIFFERENT server. That then puts you at 3 PVP servers. Some streamers on the East Coast will likely migrate to the only remaining East Coast PVP server. So now you’re down to 2 PVP servers and all the East Coast PVP servers are accounted for.
So then you have 2 west coast PVP servers. There are going to be West Coast streamers who take at least one. Now you’re down to 1 PVP server. But it’s not like all the streamers want to play together on one server together. So then if enough ‘medium to large’ following streamers split between the two remaining west coast PVP servers you could have all PVP servers used up.
So at that point Grobbulus may be the only choice if you want a server where you want to be able to communicate with almost everyone you come across and want a server without a popular streamer(or multiple streamers) and their camp followers occupying trade/general chat with tales of that sweet item their idol obtained or what he(or she) has been up to. Or going to a quest zone and suddenly finding someone with a crowd around them like Tiger Woods in his prime going from hole to hole.
That’s probably why they weren’t going to have an RP-PVP realm at first. They knew it would need a little more hands-on attention from their already limited GM staff.
I’m sure both RP realms will be enforced as they were back in the day.
Try not to mind those on this thread who are hostile towards non RPers i’m sure the lot of you are fine. They get hyper paranoid like they have any control in the matter to begin with. The more the merrier and often it just creates new RPers so.
TL;DR: Grob will be immensely more toxic than a streamer server
I understand that many of you dislike streamer drones that follow around their hero. This is no different than GM’s of zerg guilds leading their minions around the world to cause mischief.
Emerald Dream has been always one of the most toxic servers with drones running around doing stupid stuff to fellow players. Doxxing is not uncommon, and bullying in-game and twitter happens frequently. Just a few weeks ago, one guild shut its doors because its GM got swatted (police called for a bogus complaint). If you’re looking to get away from those types of players… LOL, why come to Grob?!
Our RPers are a hearty bunch that will plant good things but we don’t inhale deeply because of the fetid stench that permeates our realm.
We obviously don’t want more non-RPers to sink the realm like our retail versions. Old school players are coming back in bulk and we will be targeting the non-RP guilds like we used to do to chase them off our realm.
Non-RPers that dislike toxicity would actually be better off on a streamer server. Still want to come to escape streamers? Good luck!
