Thank you, Blizz.
a back seating rogue cant get a raid spot? sadge LoG. This is a terrible decision from blizz but ofcourse theirs the scrubs that think its good.
@Blizzard: If everybody is coming to Jom, what is going to be done to make the PVP ranking more viable? Seems like it is just going raise the bar and make it harder to rank. No lifers will be fine, but us casuals will be set back…
If you put Faction balance and population data into this post, you would get the desired information you’re after.
I think overall this is the best of a bunch of bad or not great options. In the long run in phase 5 / 6, all servers except Jom will be very problematic. BWL will likely kill off a number of “raiding” guilds that find it too tough, and the “shine” from SoM for casuals that don’t raid but are max level will further fall off. I know there are outliers, like a number of those posting about Barman, but you are the minority, sorry.
I DoNt WaNnA gO tO jOm
Too bad. Blizzard can’t create players to “pump up” low pop realms and there’s nobody that’s going to transfer AWAY from the highest pool of players just to be stranded in a ghost town for the rest of SoM.
Don’t bother with transfers. Just merge the realms. 1 pve, 1 pvp. You’re offering them free anyways so this isn’t a cash grab. Don’t give people a choice to remain stubborn and miserable isolated on a deserted island server. Just give them what they need.
And don’t give people the option to create “pvp” servers that are monofaction like what’s happened in TBC. Send EVERYONE to Jom.
If you didn’t reserve your preferred names on every SoM server, you have no one to blame but yourself.
Thank you for allowing free character transfers. Is there a limit to how many characters can be transferred, or a minimum level? Would also like to request dual spec in classic, would really help with the daunting respect cost.
thank you, i cant wait to leave my dead server to join one that is full. you cant do any instances on nightfall its horrible
You were only able to reserve one name on one server. Did you play when reservations were a thing?
Barman was a chance to have a second healthy server, where horde arnt grossly outnumbered, serving the interests of those who wanted to play there. Now tht demographic of people is simply SOL and many WILL stop playing. I dont think this is good for SOM
True, no denying that.
Key word - was it is no longer and gets smaller by the day
Although unfortunate you will lose ur name (I would also if i xfer) but its a better alternative than playing on a dead server where no one will read your name anyway so I mean choose ur battles ya know?
Now when have they publicly released relevant metrics…? cmon now ill wait…
There are roughly 10k raid logged players world wide for SOM - look at the fact there is sub 200 comments on this massive news update for server health and game longevity. Our world wide numbers match that of an decent SINGLE tbc server.
Very simply put the only way players see SOM through to naxx is on jom or server merge the way it is on classic. The thing with server merge is essentially it’s the same exact thing as everyone playing on jom layered with server tags attached to their name.
Take the xfer if you want to be able to not be on a shrinking server that will only get worse in the coming months
I really like Barman Shanker. Killing World Bosses every week with the small unassuming guild we have has been some of the best times in Wow. Pulling off Azuregos at 50% so we can kill a bunch of Horde who didnt bring sappers, before killing the boss uncontested has been Super amazing. All of our raid teams arent having any trouble at all finding 40 people in each guild to play with, and guilds arent filling spots with members of other guilds. If we all have to transfer to Jom we will have to play with people we dont know, and that is scary. Some of us will have to play with players we DO know, and THAT is even scarier. Nekrage might quit though. Im sure that is scary.
Thank you Blizz, some of my friends and I have been waiting for transfers for a while now. Wish it would of come a little earlier though.
Ranking on barman was super easy. Do you even play SoM? Most people ranked out quickly and aside from every rogue on the server getting banned for afk its been a real treat to commune with the players that have dominated the pvp scene. Maybe from the outside looking in it wasnt optimal and we didnt have 25 slots in b1 every week, but ranking there, and the community involved was the cheese bro. Like Nacho Cheese. Yummy.
Did you rank on Barman? Do you have any basis for this statement, cause I dont recognize your name from ranking.
Nobody on barman ally dominated the pvp scene. The only one good prem of players were a team from Jom
