Add one more to this list. Mailed to alt and is stuck in the bag taking up space. Maybe its another puzzle in the game… “How many clicks does it take to get into a Pirate’s Booty Box? One, two, three…”

Not surprised, how dare you call out their flaws. They only put it high speed when they make a mistake that benefits the player.

There is a known issue with the loot boxes. They need to be opened on the characters that received it. Do not put it in the warbank or do anything else with it. That breaks it. This will need to be resolved by QA and the Devs via a hotfix or patch.
Common Problems
Can’t interact with “Pirate’s Booty”, item in bags appears grey and can’t be opened
We have received several reports of this issue and can confirm it is not working as intended. Customer Support does not have a workaround or resolution that can be provided. We apologize for any inconvenience while our developers work as quickly as possible to resolve the issue.
This issue occurs when mailing your Pirate’s Booty to another character or despoting it in your warband bank. We recommend opening the Pirate’s Booty on the character that obtained the item to avoid this issue. Customer support does not provide assistance with replacing Pirate’s Booty’s which cannot be opened.
If you discover a new issue, please submit a new Bug report.
Note: Bugs submitted in-game do not receive a personal response. Instead, they’ll be directed to the teams responsible for addressing them.
This is not an issue that CS can help with and if someone keeps putting in tickets it becomes just spam - overloading the CS folks who have other tickets to answer. Eventually they tell the person to stop. Spamming them with tickets does not change the answer or magically make it something CS can fix for you.
That’s very disappointing. The toon that received the item does not need hero gear, my alts do.

If they don’t want the loot boxes mailed to alts… then make the item soulbound. Making it Warband transferrable kind of implies that you can, uh, send it to an alt and let them open it… otherwise, why mark it Warband transferrable?

Heaven forbid they spend 5 minutes to add in the option to trade a bugged chest back for a new coin to use.

So because you can’t solve the problem, you won’t respond to the problem, and you don’t like it when people get mad at you and ask you to fix the problem you caused by simply not adding the text Bind on Pickup to the item. Doesn’t matter if that wasn’t the intended outcome, it IS what you did. Nice to know I have an alt with a broken bag slot for a while since I am not wasting the time to open that item for a character that doesn’t need it, but sad to see the state of CS is basically just telling us to wait we’ll figure it out eventually… when the perception is given that there is no priority to actually fix it given the response.

MVPs are other players, not Blizzard staff. They don’t speak for, or represent, Blizzard. I did not create the game, the bug issue, or anything else. I am sorry that CS can’t repair a bug for you, but I have as much control over that as you do. CS does not fix Bugs - that is done by the QA team and the Developers.
So no, I did not have anything to do with the problem with the loot boxes. You have me mixed up with the WoW Developers.

Still broken in patch 11.1
