Picking a "main" for SL

OK your source is highly credible but for the wrong audience since that for the most part is addressed to high end raiders which I don’t have time for these days. I also did not say I don’t raid I said im mid tier meaning I enjoy heroic raiding but generally haven’t touched much mythic over the past few xpacs. yes preference does rule as always and I never asked you to solve my problem I asked your opinion on your class and why. lastly logically yes your right that does limit the amount of classes I would chose from, I never said I was picking from the whole pool to begin with. thus the insight from players from a different perspective then my own is welcomed.

Then you should play a Priest.

Since there are four covenants I’ve decided to have four mains. DH, DK, Warlock, and Hunter. My Druid will be going in also but not until I have the others advanced a bit in the covenant storylines.

Warrior is literally the only class I find even somewhat fun since Mists. I’ll try out SL beta and if I don’t like it looks like I won’t be playing at all.

has it been said anywhere that if you unlock the covenant gear set if its transmogable to your characters not in that covenant? would be cool if you could say run 4 plate classes and pic all the different covenents to have all the sets on one character. im guessing this wont be allowed but would be cool

You will have until next year to figure it out, so no rush

I wish Blizzard would buff casters to (un)holy hell and make the next 2-3 new classes/specs entirely caster.

The game is so effingly full of melee and I am about tired of it. Everyone I can think of starting from MoP onwards has only ever transitioned to a melee from a caster but never the other way around.

Yes I like melee/tanks and hate that the role is so overfilled. It should take physical skill to play a melee class on par with how FFXIV does with positional and combos. There needs to be a huge increase to melee-punishing mechanics also to get people back to casters.

This game may as well be called World of Meleecraft with how stupid things have gotten over the years.

Since the expansion is centered around death and the after life, I am thinking about DK, Warlock, priest or paladin. Playing a warrior could be fitting as well.

Things could change as I learn more.

I tend to agree as someone that switched from a caster to melee long ago and have never been able to go back. raiding feels mostly even but outside of that life as melee is just more efficient. your generally faster at everything given all instant cast abilites, your usually much tankier and you don’t suffer nearly as much in the early going with a lack of haste.

It will be Blood Elf Druid for me. It’s going to happen :upside_down_face:

Always DK.
My spec pretty much determines on what spec is considered off-meta.
So for example in Mists i was a Dual Wielding(Dancing Steel+Fallen Crusader) Death Siphoning UH DK.
I also push Blood in arena because noone else does it.(Atleast to 2k)

I like to play things that everyone expects to be bad because its not the cookie cut build of the season, and then compete with the cookie cutters with it.

Either a human pally, this warrior, or my new Gnome warrior. Leaning Gnome atm. Feel heroic as hell playing as her.

Going to go with my druid. Used my human pally this expac for rep reasons and really miss my druid.

Always an altoholic, which is why I don’t play as much anymore. I have my “main” but it’s primarily because it has the most achievements and all secondary professions are maxed, etc…

Can they run +15s and heroic raids? Yes?

But sure, “F tier,” and totally unplayable, I guess

I’ve been a demon hunter main since the first wing of ToS opened in Legion, but when I unlocked mechagnomes and dark iron dwarves, I’ve been strongly considering swapping.

Take Smedmore here. He was my first WoW character ever. I chose dwarf hunter because friends who played said that would be the best character to start out on. I didn’t care for the character much. I got him to max level, and with every expansion I’d level him to max and try very hard to like him, but for some reason he and I just never clicked.

But now? After a quick race change to a dark iron dwarf, flying around on the Obsidian Worldbreaker with Son of the Beast and an Iron Warwolf as my hunter pets? This character is RAD and I want to play him all the time.

He may actually wind up my Shadowlands main.

I’ll start with my mage here, but it really will depend on how they change classes. If class changes result in something else being more fun, I’ll swap mains.

This is me but with fire mage. It’s what I’ve mained since patch 1.6 and I’ll probably main it till the servers shut down. Other alts have temporarily taken the spotlight, but I always end up back on my mage.

Im currently trying to level up and gear at least 4 characters to journey into Shadowlands so I can try out each covenant story line. I don’t think I’ll have one main, but try to casually play between four characters to try and get as much of the story as I can.

I’m either going to go with my fury warrior or ret paly. Those are my two strongest characters as far as survival and damage so I’ll be able to go faster than with my other classes (also because I favor their play style).

Possible Ill go with my rogue though so I can skip content.
