So breaking down my earlier post as challenged;
Offensive Tinker setup (with bows/guns);
Goop, oil slicks, plagues, traps, alchemical inventions;
functions on deployable zones denying access to foes/controlling locations. possibly with debuff potential, snares and otherwise.
Further expanding;
Deployable items; flamethrowers, combustable chickens, displacement/distraction devices, bees, robots. The character could place down items that are active threats as units or otherwise. Throw in a mech as some form of super cooldown.
Basic idea in functioning similar to D2/3 Assassin or Demon Hunter classes with deployable traps, turrets and otherwise.
Medic setup;
Augmentations/Plague/Booze/Alchemical inventions and medic capabilities to function as a healer class. similarly could use zone prevention/control of deployables to create safe/deadly areas.
Hunters have some level of traps, yes, but the idea here is to take it to the next level of area control and denial.
Obviously, yes, more would be needed to flesh it into a full class but that was hardly the point here, and I’m just going to cut off this avenue of retort before you bother.
and you summon fel magic through blasts and fire to deal damage with it, that still doesn’t make you a destruction warlock.
i’m not against tinker, i never have been. i just think it’s boring and would like to see more necromancy made available first. i’m not saying to not add tinker, just i’d like more necromancy first. i do want tinker added.
dark ranger more than any other possible class
All of these ideas aren’t great.
Tinker is literally just what survival hunter is right now.
How would Dark Ranger in any way be different from hunter / Death knight
The dumbest of all is necromaner…Death Knights are literally Necromancers in every way. Then you add Warlocks to the equation. You can see how that class doesn’t make any sense.
I don’t think adding another class is the answer. There are already 12 in the game and they have a hard enough time balancing all of that. Looking at DH as an example, the class has failed in it’s identitiy, it doesn’t know what it is or what it’s trying to do, so you end up with a shell of a class that is either way too broken, like it was, then it gets the nerf hammer, and now it’s total garbage, like it currently is. This will be the story of Demon Hunter forever as long as it’s incomplete with no class identity.
If you create a class for the sake of creating new classes and aren’t extremely clear as to what that classes identity is and how it fits into the ecosystem of classes in WoW you will have a near imposssible time balancing said class and you end up with more people hating your game.

I’ve been wanting a Dark Ranger longer, but a Bard would be even better, I think, because both factions could have one easily.
Tinker class is just b.s. We already have engineers, for pete’s sake.
No. Genius.
My class is based off the “Demon Hunter” unit from Warcraft 3.
That means I have Metamorphosis, Immolation Aura, And abilities that help me dodge attacks.
You know. Just like Warcraft 3.
Death Knights can shoot Death coils. raise the dead, and empower nearby undead. Just like Warcraft 3.
Warlocks have Doom and Rain of Fire. Just like a pit lord.
So I want a class that can build turrets and tanks in a mech. just like Warcraft 3.
…
I’d make mine a Tauren called Dimmuburger
I wont none of them. I want a dragonborn
Tinker just as long as I don’t have to be a GNOME or Mechagnome to be a Tinker. I really enjoy engineering as a profession so this would be a good fit.
Next class needs to be mail, ranged, and have a healing off-spec.
So potentially a Bard could do it. Or a tinker.
No Dark Ranger, please.
Tinker.
Could use another class that can use guns at least and mail armor.
Bard. I need to sing my heart out.
I think that would be a mistake, but I could see a tinker being Gnome/Mechagnome for alliance and Goblin/Vulpera for horde.
I wouldn’t play this job at all because I wouldn’t be able to stomach being any of those races.
Me either! I dont do short creatures.
They’d HAVE to give us a human/belf out on each faction just to get people to even consider playing it.

Bard would be interesting take!
My vote would be Necromancer > Bard > Tinker >>>>>> Dark Ranger

As much as I’d LOVE to have a true necro (even at the cost of some unholy overlap), I don’t see it.
They could do mail. They could do possibly a healing spec? But they wouldn’t use ranged weapons.
I think the next class needs to use both mail, ranged weapons, and be able to heal.

Bard
A rogue and a bard belong with each other in a party
Tinker im fine with because we have so much mecha stuff already and no class to draw from it.
Bard only if its L60ETC the class.
I would like a Naga Sea Witch hero class next.
