No, let the players that can use the app, use the app.
Blizz needs to let players that canât use the app, authenticate using a different method.
Okay⌠What method do you have in mind as a more secure alternative to 2FA,
I sign in, receive a text, enter a code. Done.
If Battlenet can recognize my account is on the same PC so I donât have to punch in password every time, I donât have to authenticate every time. If password must be entered, I must authenticate.
Unlock the game features. I donât care about 4 slots and a pet.
Thatâs what the app does⌠You sign in, it generates a code, you enter code and log in. Having a text sent to you is NOT really secure as those can be redirected and spoofed. I think Blizzard try phone authentication a long time ago (I might be wrong). Didnât work out to well.

Well great then. Maybe they can make something like that that everyone can use. Maybe wrap it in battlenet instead of requiring a separate phone app.

The security of the app is the fact it is separate from the game. Look up what Two factor authentication is.

yes it has to be separate. That why it is almost impossibly hard to break into a account with one attached.

If you wish to see a change, post in GD as not much can be done here as the devs donât come to the CS forums for player feedback or suggests.

So post in General Discussion. The ones who make those decisions donât take feedback/suggestions from the Customer Support forum and the SFAs here are not liaisons with them.

I am running concurrent threads for visibility. Technically, this should be a customer support issue due to being related to my account. Besides, everyone knows GD is a lost cause for anything.
Actualy posting here as a suggestion is basicly it getting lost to the maw to never be seen by the dev they dont come here general or ingame suggestion feature are the best avenue even if u dont get a blue post.

Actually itâs not. No one here or in the CS Department can change the authenticator policy or magically create a new system. Itâs a developmental issue as as it was stated before, the devs donât frequent this board.

No, because itâs a development issue. Customer Support does not make policy or system choices. Itâs done by the Development team.
It isnât. There have been a lot of things added to the game that came from suggestions and feedback in General Discussion.

Itâs not something that Customer Support does.
Quite a bit. Iâve been posting on the forums since Vanilla. Just because there is a lot of other things happening in GD doesnât mean that ideas donât come from there as well.
