Physical Authenticator and Support Bots

I played WOW back when it began, I had to stop playing due to Real life and my career. I thought I would try it again. But my main account is locked behind a physical authenticator that has a dead battery. There is NO WAY to contact actual customer support, and all I have gotten through the “ticketing” useless system is an AI bot asking for the same exact information twice. I would like to recover my original account so I can re-activate it. I guess I need to clarify, I sent all the information the AI bot requested.

Well, the support isn’t going to remove it without ensuring the person that’s contacting them is the owner and not someone with the log-in info at that moment.

I sent the information already. It just sent back the same exact message.

Are you replying to the email by chance?

No, it told me to enter a new support ticket, so I did that. I am trying to avoid any scams/ID theft for sure.

Are you adding in the other ticket number in your reply?

Good question! That I did not do. And as I was typing this…I got yet again the SAME email asking for the SAME info. I’ll try adding the ticket numbers in.

That usually helps. Start with a reference to the first ticket number, then answer the questions they asked as best you can.

I see two tickets currently open and both are assigned which means someone has them active to work at the moment.

If you’ve been gone a long time, it may be hard to remember some of those answers. We understand that. You do need to have a ‘passing score’, however, for us to be able to reasonably confirm that you are the legitimate account holder. That is for your protection.

If you can’t pass those initial questions, there is sometimes other ways to verify, but they can be a little more complex.
