you would think you guys are looking for world first instead of just killing heroic bosses
all that isn’t need to kill those bosses - those are extra requirements. And there is nothing stopping you from just getting someone else to list the group for you if you really can’t have success without min/maxing to that degree.
Any security expert will tell you the best way to secure your data is to compartmentalize it from other data, limit access to as few programs as possible, and to control its access to the internet. This app want continuous access to all our phone data and the entire internet.
So, please spare me the tinfoil hat routine. There are risks involved with installing this. People should be informed of those risks and be able to opt out if they so choose, without in-game penalties.
I work for a phone company and can confirm this is the case. Legit all you have to do is have your old acct # and pin, and pick out a phone and boom. You’re set. The only thing that doesn’t transfer is your apps, but apps take seconds to download these days.
Except that the authenticator doesn’t collect or transmit any of your personal data you absolute spanner…
It approves access to your account with the press of a button, or, if you’d prefer to enter the codes manually, it allows you to enter the code manually which means it doesn’t even send an approval request.
You aren’t just wearing a tin foil hat, you’ve built a tin foil fort and are hunkering down inside it at this point while screaming absolute BS.
you don’t have any friends? boosters aren’t going to make groups to have people join and then they will have to explain they are trying to sell carries only to have 99% of the people leave. You may have that much time but more people don’t, and if you think that is an acceptable way of doing business for the boosters, then why it is so hard for you to do the same.
Honestly, it wouldn’t be bad to change from them. Their service is crap. I went to a better provider, Getting better service, got a better phone and paying about half as much. The free government phones are better than Cricket.
If the boosters just start listing their boost runs with no text, my legit run will not get visibility. It will be harder for me to fill a group. Players will apply to groups with text.
Well if it did work like that, it would still be secured. As they would need access to your phone to approve any attempts to access it. But that said, they really should just bring back the physical authenticator for a couple of months, allowing people who don’t own can’t or don’t want to use the mobile version an alternative.
I’m not sure what a spanner is, but I will try to explain…
You’re saying what you’ve seen the software do. You aren’t taking into account what hackers can get the software to do, or how future updates to the app could add vulnerabilities. It’s not uncommon for security software to be exploited, given the access level they are given.
Remember, this software asks for access to your entire SD card, and the entire internet. Both are not necessary.
Odd, I was using my physical one up until 3 months ago when I went to the mobile app. And the only reason I switched was I was noticing that it took longer for the display to come on, so I was worried the battery was finally on it’s finally leg.
You don’t know that. People looking for boosters may just start applying to groups. As a group leader, you’ll see the applicants ilvl. You’re not going to invite the players looking like they can hold their own, but if ilvl 200 is applying to a 15+…
Just like you don’t know that this change Blizz made is going to stop the adverts or not.
Again, the authenticator does not collect your data, it does not transmit your data.
You literally don’t have to enter any login information into the app to use it. So there is absolutely nothing that a hacker can gain from that software. You’d know this if you bothered to look at the app in question.
You have not done your research.
You do not have the correct information.
You are spouting lies and tinfoil theories.
It doesn’t need to transmit your data. He is saying the app requires ACCESS to your data. If the app has a vulnerability that gets exploited, someone else can steal your data.
