Phasing problems recently added?

Well, it seems that recently some fancy phasing problems got introduced.
Like people not phasing into the same phase, while in a group.

Had this for hours now, 3 people in a group, 1 person in a different phase for 90% of the time.
Tested:
-Just waiting for minutes: Nothing changed

  • /reload on everyone in the group: nothing changed
-Relogging via menu: did not work
-Reforming the group in every possible way of invite : did not work
-Forming the group via group request over LFG tool “zone” option: did not work.

This is making easy, standard and classic stuff like a freaking mage portal an impossible hurdle to overcome.

Oh and the problem is the same, both in cities, and in zero populated outworld areas.

All of the above mentioned problems have occured in vanilla areas.

Even entering a dungeon, then leaving to gether did not work all the time (it worked sometimes), besides the obvious problem that this hardly a workaround.

That’s not a recent thing. That has been there since the start of phasing or more to the point layering.

You are not on a different phase as them you are on a different layer quite a bit different.

Diff phase means they’re on a diff part of a quest and meant to not appear to you even if partyed. This was “fixed” in wrath classic by giving quests that phase you badges at the end to get people to finish them and as such get on the same phase. Phases don’t exist in vanilla areas.

Layers and layering is what you’re facing.

Layering bugs are common to say the least and not likly to be fixed as been there for a long time. But you can go report in the bug report fourm if you want. Layers thou if the layer your group is mostly on is full no matter what you do that person won’t be moved to the layer you are on. That is only one reason for that to happen also can happen for no reason at all.

Also layers are massive so I highly doubt you are able to tell if the one your on has 0 pop as they span entire continents. Your server would need to be quite literally dead to have that happen.

The best way to get everyone on same layer is norm to have the one on the odd layer leave and start the group inviting only ONE of the other members and no one else untill that one person appears in there layer thab invite one more. Layers always try to bring members to the layer with the most members favouring the party leads. So if he invites everyone at once it’s no different than someone inviting him as the majority is on the same layer so will pull the party lead there. If only inviting one it favours the party leads layer as no majority.

I don’t think this is a recent issue, perhaps something you’ve only now just really experienced for the first time? I’ve encountered the issue with not layering despite being in a group multiple times in both Wrath Classic and TBCC. I’m not sure why it happens and unfortunately, I don’t have a solution either.
